Classic 2000 not loading .pgm files from mpc editor v3

At risk of being told about the search function...I lurk around here, been reading for awhile, also use google rather successfully...

specifics:
Samples chopped, exported as .wav's, fully able to listen/use in FL, but I prefer to start my workflow with the 2000.

When I just dump the wavs onto a floppy via the browser, the mpc reads them, and I can assign them manually, but would really prefer to speed things up and create programs with the editor (I've got two small kids), but when I export to the floppy, the mpc is giving me a 'disk read error'. Am I just dumb? I've checked the manual for the pc and mpc editor, and nothing seems to be incorrect. I do have a scsi zip, but do not have scsi capability with the computer (yet). I'm certain all components work, the computer is running windows 10, but 'sees' the usb floppy drive correctly, just looking for a quick turnaround for mapping. (yes I should have gotten a usb capable mpc, but I dig the sound of this one). I can take all the hate if someone can help me figure this one out.

I sample via audacity, turntable is really cheap and sounds *curseword*, then it's chopped via audacity, exported to individual wavs, then when I try to map with mpc editor, I get a disk read error on the mpc. I always format my disks on the mpc before I utilize, and as I said, if I just dump rim shots, claps, bass, etc onto the floppy the mpc loads and reads fine. I assume I'm just doing something dumb. </discuss>

At what point are you getting the disk read error? When you insert the disk (i.e. the disk is unreadable), or when you try to load a program (file corruption, disk corruption etc)?

Upon loading. It's weird, read that editor may not play well with Windows 10, but installed fine. As I said, if I just open the (a) drive and dump files, mpc sees them fine, but if I export pgm files and sounds I get the disk error.

It is a flakey app these days, I've experienced all sorts of issues with it so I don't really use it any more. I think XP was the last OS that it played properly with.

is there possibly something that I'm doing incorrectly? I assign the sounds to the virtual pads, everything loads, i insure there's just enough for one floppy, then export (ctrl p) to the floppy, everything seems to work, then when I try to load the floppy (which does 'see' the programs, but disk read error when loading into my mpc.

just an update, I tried this, same result as mpc editor, but it did give me a hint that I forgot from the manual regarding the length of the name of samples. 8 characters, no symbols etc. So it doesn't make it any faster to compile pgm's if I have to rename the wavs, so I'm essentially just sampling from the external sound card. Slow? yes, but it works.

This and coming up with creative 8 character names for samples is what got me through

And 8 characters is ONLY when dealing with computers. IF your cf NEVER touches computer then you can go full 16 characters, BUT, who wants to STAY with that and NOT take advantage of the interwebz fo-fillions of samples right?

I'll give it a shot, seems like what I'm looking for. I don't mind sampling, loading etc, but with two little unpaid roommates, I really just want to streamline the workflow of creating programs. Really considering the mpc studio just so I can bang out a few things when I get a few seconds. If this batch renames, then the 2000 classic may still have a home here, because I love the sound and workflow.

If any Mac users cares... I got MPCEditor v3 to work on my Mac wrapped with WinBottler.app.
I would share it but it's the actual PC program I paid for back in 2005 with my personal serial number.
