Does using MPC as a plug in just suck?

Does anyone successfully use MPC as a plug in within your DAW?

I love MPC as stand alone but trying to use it functionally within Logic is just painful. It constantly loses sync, you lose logic key commands when the MPC is open and its all round just pretty clunky... and seems to take quiet a bit of processing power up.

Just wondering what other people experiences are like when using MPC this way and if there was some major element i was missing.

Regarding the key commands, the ctrl z ie doesnt work and will undo last operation in logic. Got used to it as well
Getting used to isnt a solution, breaks the workflow, then, now and later. We need this tight.

It's a dreadful experience. I tend to stick to doing everything within the MPC software and bouncing the tracks to mix in a DAW (Reaper) if needed

I do, it works for me. When I do that I tend to use it only for perc, drums and chopped samples. I just send the signal out to a track in a daw if I need effects. I usually assign transport buttons on the Touch to the daw. I leave the record button though for the MPC plugin.

My wish is that make the plugin as featured as the standalone app.

same, the new drag and drop bounce method is awesome for this.

that kills me. working on drums for 20 mins, make one mistake, hit undo, mpc unloads and loose everything.

Still losing sync here, with the MPC TOUCH, this is a recent problem. I never had the issue with 1.8xx or lower. Something changed in the code which ruined the clock with midi when working as a vsti.

Akai knows about it, hopefully they'll fix it.

Ableton Live...is working with the plugin.

im using it in ableton but so far its kind of annoying. i have to re map it everytime. or maybe im not doing something right. and i cant change bpm from withing mpc hardware. so duno.

I've found myself doing everything in the DAW. Dumping into another DAW was holding up my workflow.

Try saving it as a template.

I don't think changing the bpm in the MPC hardware was ever supposed to change the tempo in Live.

i dont even know how to save templates..but ill look into it. i wana try using daw cause its supposed be faster and make shit better..but so far a pain in the culo

Its frustrating.

Especially when you're dealing with delay compensation.

I dont bother using the MPC as plugin because as others have described, you can find yourself sending incorrect key commands. Overall you just lose too much functionality when you make a groovebox play as a plugin. I use Logic as a Sound Module and work with the MPC in Standalone mode.

I'd rather use the MPC for all the MIDI sequencing and then transfer over to Logic when its time for arranging, editing and mixing.
