drum program polyphony

Hey
Is there a max polyphony in drum programs?
I was getting a drone being cut off when I started adding claps and percussions in my drum program! I can't really figure out why.
All pads were set to mono but the program was set to poly.

It was weird the drone just wouldn't play throughout depending on what drums were playing over top

Delay - nope, but on osxl even when pads are set to mono overlap (within poly pgm) the release in ADSR is also eating up voices when more than 0, it's acting alike poly so you got to keep it balanced to your use/liking

BTW what's your settings in Track Mute > press Window


to preserve polyphony there should be "note on" in 1st line

Also does having lots of layered sounds eat up polyphony, I am assuming that each layer eats up 1 voice (eg. 3 different snares layered on 1 pad = 3 voices) is that the case?
And is that cut in half when using stereo samples?

yes 3 layers in stereo = 6 voices, and if they overlap just once gives 12. If all layers have velocity 1-127 you can bounce (record main out) to 1 sample in this case.

Thanks, I think my hi hats might be killing me, they are set to mono so no overlap but yeah 16th notes with 3 stereo samples is probably doing it
If I resample and purge and save all again will that delete the hats in my folder as well? Or do I need to do it manually?
