I'm currently just running the Ren with the laptop, using the Ren interface . . . But i notice a lot of people use a seperate audio interface . . . Can someone just give me brief run down of what the benefits are of having a seperate interface? . . .

the quality is likely to be better... and people often got the ren because it was the latest MPC.... but came from using other software (for example, software for recording their hardware mpcs)

it's a bonus feature, you'll likely encounter better mic preamps, driver stability, routing in a good dedicated interface. some modern day interfaces come with dedicated built- in FX processors so you can apply effects real-time and monitor without putting much strain on the computer's CPU. i think those would few main reasons why most opt out for dedicated interface.

Thanks for the responses……I don’t think I’ll rush out and buy a separate interface just yet…..I’ve been fairly happy with the Ren interface so far…..

Yeah. I get a WAY cleaner signal w/ my Scarlett 2i2 than my MPC Touch's AI provides.

I've pretty satisfied with the Ren as an audio interface. I also have a Scarlett 8i6 and a Steinberg UR22. I think the Ren certainly holds it's own. In my opinion you would have to spend upwards of 2k if you want a noticeable improvement in sound quality.
