tips for working fast

does anyone have links to tutorials or documentation on tips for working super fast w/ JJOS?
i'm pretty fast at certain things, but i'd like to build the muscle memory in a bit more... things like sampling external audio to pads and editing sounds' envelopes, params, etc. seems to take me more time than i'd like.

like; how much time do y'all spend building programs in the machine itself, or do you usually use software then dump it?

just trying to get an idea of what my options are. i've used mpcs for a long time but never really asked others about their workflow.

imo there isn't really a shortcut to this. it's like learning an instrument - if you practice you'll improve.

lately i've been synthesising drum hits on my op-1, sampling them into my MPC, chopping them, layering them, re-sampling into the octatrack, adding fx and compression, and then re-sampling them into the MPC.

does it take time? yes it does. could i just use some sample packs or whatever? of course i could.

i just enjoy the whole process, so for me it's killer. if you want to streamline processes maybe a standalone unit isn't the best option. the integrated MPCs seem to offer some really great time saving options.

yeah, there are few more shortcuts but you just have to find your own flow.

i've definitely started to get faster. i used to use the mpc all the time for most of my work and it's been a while since i got back into it.
good news is that it all came right back.

one thing i run into frequently while i'm building up a program (weirdly enough, i prefer doing this on the machine itself rather than in software; probably just more immediate and tactile) is that i need to copy one pad to another. any suggestions for this? or maybe something obvious i couldn't find in the manual?

yeah use copy pad function. Its in the manual
