Sorry if this has been asked, I've googled my face off, my studio is second hand, didn't include install disk and when I registered this is the list of software on my akai profile page:

MPC Software Content
The 809
The 809 (PC)
The 809 (Mac)
The Bank
The Bank (PC)
The Bank (Mac)

This video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_t6j96oQxU
shows dude opening the MPC content from drop down. When I do that I get 'midi control scenes' and nothing else. Am I just have dumb? I also wasn't prompted to download the WUB or Noise plugin?

Wub and noise are mpc ren only. 'MPC Software Content' contains your GBs of sounds. This used to be an installer which put the sounds somewhere deep in your hard drive but now I think it's just a zip archive that you just put wherever you prefer. You can create a shortcut to it in the browser.

I assumed the answer, but cannot access the sounds via the 'browser' area, only from the bank as a plugin, and even then, I do not get a drop down menu with browseable sounds. Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am still investigating, but the mpc content only displays midi, no programs, no samples etc. I think I may attempt a fresh install of the mpc software. (as an aside, i'm purchasing your mpc software book when I get paid, I dig the workflow, but could use a few tips) and searching here has been invaluable.

Don't reinstall as the bank seems to be working fine. The bank is a plugin - create a plugin track and assign the bank to it. You can access presets from the expansion browser or by clicking the 'e' icon on the sequencer panel, or via program edit. While the bank does use samples as the basis of its sounds, these are not standard audio files and cannot be used directly in any audio application, Akai appear to have gimped them so they only work 'behind the scenes' with the Bank.

In the above mentioned video, dude just goes to mpc content, and is able to access all previous pgms and sounds, as I said, when I go to mpc content, it's literally just says midi control scenes with no other options. I'm missing something here, and I assume it's just a case of user error.

As I said in my original post:

Download 'MPC Content' from your Akai account, unzip it and copy it somewhere, anywhere you feel like. Inside you have a bunch of kits and loops, including all the old stuff from previous MPCs. It's the same stuff the guy talks about in the video, except back then it came with an installer that put the shortcut in the Browser drop down - now it doesn't.

I finally located it. Took me a few days of searching, but the content had been downloaded with a few errors, fresh install and locating the folder solved my problem I think. There seems to be a few glitchy things, but with my recent 'upgrade' if you can call it, to win10, things were installing to strange areas of the hard drive. Thanks for your patience.
