is there a way how to use MPC2000 Midi notes Below 36 (c1)??

I'm trying to get the most from my MPC2000(classic) as a MIDI seq. Sadly the lowest midi note i can assign a pad to is C!. This seems to be a massive cutting in possibilities, and most of the gear I'm controlling need trigger below c1 (I'm using a novation drumstation that has drum sounds mapped from c0,to d#4, and i wanted to control any virtual bassline wich will mean a basier sound than c1!!!!) is anyone that has a good experience with the mpc as a midi sequencer know a way around this limitation? not been able to do this will just mean for me selling my mpc and get a new gear as i bought it for sequencer purpouses mostly. PLEASE HELP!!!

If it's anything like the XL, then the lowest you can assign to a pad is 35. Other MPCs can assign lower MIDI notes to pads natively, such as the MPC Software (0-127), I believe the 4000 and 5000 allow you to assign anything down to 0 although I'd need to double check.

However the limitation on the 2000 is purely restricted to the pads - if you attach a bog standard MIDI keyboard to a spare MIDI IN on the MPC you can generate any MIDI note you wish and the MPC will pass that on to the relevant MIDI OUT and on to your module.

I had the same question, but never bothered to ask (I don't use MIDI much.) But good to know!
