editing while playing

ok so i have an MPC4k

nice

i have seen the seq edit screen

nice

however to actually edit i have to stop playback

is there a way around this?

for example if i want to adjust a velocity do i have to stop, edit and start again?

I don't have it in front of me. Off the top of my head you can adjust velocity on the main screen during playback.

Theres a few ways on there, don't give up so fast. Its possible just in another screen.

also maybe im just approaching this in the wrong way

I'd really want to be able to do things like move drumhits around whilst the thing is playing so i get instant feedback on how it would sound

There's a feature on the 4000 that other MPC's don't have, non destructive quantize.

You can adjust the quantize and swing while its playing.
