Logic did it first, via key command/or cc> this was already established. Akai did it next, via their software/controller - NI did it 3rd, what I suggested,is they (NI) did it in a very similar way - ripped - via pads - vs. using a different method - nothing more.. I'm a fan of both, now imo, Akai should do the same, when it comes to features such as export! Simple, not sure how this is an Amazing thing to try and understand, but there's the breakdown for such a thought.. :smoker:

@bobby I first found my 'version' of it back in 96 with cool edit - I'd just tap f5 and would create cue points on every chop I wanted. Similarly, on logic doing that and then having it map to any midi note I wanted.

welp, it seems NI missed something as they've recalled their update....now, users are PO'd because NI is warning whatever work they save with the update might be unrecoverable....
it seems sometimes there's just no end to some people's misery

Lol right. But hey we should all be glad we've come this far in technology. Sometimes people get pissed over some minute BS :Sigh:

Same with slicex and Edison in flstudio.

Dope now I know why everyone was on cool edit back then, this was before I ever got close to a cpu,but alot of folks used it. I was a 2000xl only back then, thanks for the history on this.

I'm a fan of NI,but couldn't you be a bit more original, is this what Developers call sampling ? Akai Pro do me one favor, go for the juggler please, and take them out. Warriors come out n play!

Abelton uses the same realtime slice method. (Pad slicing).

The Akai hardware also used algorithms (software). Difference is modern computers are fast, so realtime and multitask are easy to convert into complex algorithms and outputs.

It's funny I thought I was comparing mpc vs maschine, now it's every software known to man, along with push etc.. At no point did I say Akai invented the wheel, this was a matter of the two companies mentioned. Sound forge also allowed for this years back in software, awesome, lets wiki this information now...

Of course you need computers to design the OS, but saying NI "ripped" Akai is a bit of an oxymoron.
