If the problem is not any of the other resistors, what it could be? Allmost everything else is tested allready.
Im affraid that I need to get new motherboard if i dont find the problem.

Are you sure the buttons were failing? The 16 levels LED is supposed to stay on when pressed, same with track mute and the bank buttons. REc and Play will be lit if your sequence is playing/recording. Just making sure but check your ribbon connectors before you close it back up.

When I say they were stuck, I mean that those lights were stuck all the time, even when off and I didnt record or use those things. When I pressed the buttons off, the light was still on.
After I did do some cleaning and turned the mpc on, the lights went off and are working normally now.

And yeah I think all the resistors are working correctly..
This is really frustrating.

Before i get another broken mpc for the parts so I can fix my mpc, can someone please tell me what type of a resistor is resistor in middle of the motherboard and what number the volt meter should show if its working. Its that geen resistor with gold, black, black, purple, blue stripes I think. Not sure about the golors in stripes because its so small and hard to see the colors. What is the number of that resistor.

dude i think you are wasting your time chasing down busted resistors. that is going to be one of the last components to fail and it wouldn't cause an issue like this. it sounds like a goofed up mechanical connection somewhere or possibly a blown op-amp. i'm not even sure buying a busted mpc is going to make your life any easier - then you got to figure out what is wrong with two mpcs, and then hope that when you frankenstein them together, you get a working one. i know it is frustrating, but if you really want an mpc, find one that works, chalk this one up as a gamble and a parts machine - or keep trying to repair it. but since we don't even know where the problem is, maybe best to not put too much more money into it (buying replacement parts) since you don't know what you need.

i forget - have you tried unseating and re-seating all ribbon cables? anything that can be plugged in and unplugged, you could try redoing those.

Yeas I have done that cable thing.
I think the "dirt" that was in motherboard may be oxidation of some small metal parts or/and something may have burned and messed some part up.

I know what I need. New motherboard.
Im not going to buy a "busted" mpc. Im going to buy a new motherboard to it from mpcstuff or a broken mpc that haves a working motherboard. Obviously and clearly the problem is somewhere in motherboard, so I need to just replace it.
Its very simple. All I need to do is to open some screws, plug the ribbon cables in and put screws back.
And if thats not working for some odd reason I can use and fix the other broken mpc.
I dont have money for fully workin perfect mpc so thats why even in firstplace I did got this "busted" one.

I did find a guy yesterday that is selling his broken mpc2000xl in very cheap price.
It only haves broken screen he says.
I can take motherboard from that and put it in my mpc or I can replace the screen of that with my screen of this "busted" mpc. I can use the other one as an parts in case something breaks in future.
Simple as that.

,,and yeah even this mpc I have now is in perfect condition otherwise. It only haves this mystery problem. :? It looks like brand new. Guy did say he never really even used it that much when he sold this to me, so it is basicly allmost unused. I quess something has just burned from it during theese 10 years.
He did say he did buy this brandnew in 2006 or something, but never really get in to mpc world.

This mystery remains unsolved and Im getting the board replacement or the broken screen mpc2000xl i find yesterday.
Case closed.
I hope I finally get out of this problem hell :worthy:

I had an xl with stuck lights, make sure the small ribbon cable to the main board is properly seated and not offset (two pins on the side not connected).

EDIT: ohhhhhh shiiiii :WTF: im stupid. forget what I just did say earlier today! I was so excited of this other mpc that I forget to plug one of the cables. Thats why the buttons didn't resbond.

So I have 2 MPC2000xl's now. I did buy one with damaged screen.
The main mother board from that is now replaced in to this older.
So yeah everything seems to work now after replaced the main mother board.
It even haves the 32mb upgrade. Didnt have that earlier.
Problem solved.
