Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I just bought a MPC 2000XL and the memory is already maxed out. (32 MB of RAM). When I sample from records into the MPC the sample itself plays completely but the visual wav file only loads halfway then stops. Is that normal or should I give it more time to load or does that mean something is wrong with my LCD?

This is my first time with the 2000XL so I'm not sure what it is. The longest I've waited is 5 minutes. Or maybe I'm recording the sample with the wrong settings? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

Positive that's what I don't get. I can actually cut the sample even the part I can't visually see so I'm chopping by strictly ear.

Yeah that's some weird ish then.
The general advise I've read on here when somthing gos wrong is to take the ram out and rub the metal contacts with a eraser and download and install a fresh coppy of the operating system.
Other than that I don't know.
Maybe one of the more experienced members might know what's up, but I don't.

Hope it works out, dude.

Well thanks for the advice and your time I really appreciate it. A friend of mine said he thinks somethings wrong with the screen maybe.I left out that I use the MPC 2000XL completely as a stand alone machine no computer AT ALL just the beat machine unless I'm actually tracking the beat into a DAW.

Have you tried it on the zoom in screen?
In 'Trim' with the Cursor on start or end position press 'open window' and it opens another window that you can zoom in or out of, the missing bit might show up on that.
Or in Program Params you can adjust 'decay' and 'Dcy md'' and use those to set the envelope cut off.

Yup I've done that as well more than once and when I zoom I can see a little bit more visually but the entire visual never shows. Sometimes depending on the sample it'll show bits and pieces towards the end like the visual will be broken up blank in one area and then broken up again I'll load a sample up today and take a picture of the screen so you can see exactly what I'm describing.

I never posted a picture because I used it yesterday and it worked perfectly fine for the first time. The whole sample loaded across the screen within a few seconds. Maybe it was something I was doing wrong when I was sampling.

Thanks for the help man.

Was it a different sample than the initial problem, how long was each sample and what khz/bit?
