Sequencing a Midi retrofitted Juno-60 using MPC-2000XL

Hey,

Just wondering if it's possible to sequence my Juno-60 that has been retrofitted with Midi using the MPC-2000XL?
When I try, I get some strange results. Either:
A) I can record the notes but the keyboard also triggers the drum sounds, or
B) When I play it back, the notes are all over the keyboard and not what i recorded at all.

I know in the user manual for the MPC, it shows it being connected to another external sequencer, so is that something that I have to do, and not just go synth direct to sampler?

Juno is mono timbral correct? Meaning 1 midi channel only.

A. Set MPC track to MIDI. You only get 1 midi channel, juno60 gear limitation.

B. Once you record on that track, leave the keyboard patch where it is.
If you change the juno patch that mpc midi will change right along with it.
ie. play other sounds with the same sequenced data you recorded.
You've already experienced this.

set yer track to midi instead of drum at the bottom. that will help.

So, I have the MPC track set to Midi, but the data recording is still all over the place. Certain notes won't trigger, the note hold is still there, and the notes it does decide to record seem like different keys than the ones I pressed.

I think I've actually ruled out it being a problem with the MPC, and more so a problem with the Juno's Dtronics Midi retrofit. But I'm not sure. Here's some info I found out about it:

"The MDCB60 converts the Juno DCB signal to a midi signal, So you can use the Juno midi-out to control other midi devices. It only sends out midi-on and midi-off messages.

It also converts midi to DCB, now you can use the Juno as a sound module and play the Juno with your sequencer. It only converts midi-on and midi-off messages, no other things as control messages or program-change and pitch control.

You can select the midi channel (IN and OUT) with a simple push on the button."
