If youleft it at the shop they could have taken the board out, especially if you said you wern't sure if it had it. So detail may have made good on the scsi.

There was an easier way to check, just go to the disk menu, you will have scsi options available if it is installed.

Why did detail pay shipping? was it considered included in the price? If so then you got what you paid for, there's no way you'd get a 60 with scsi shipped to Asia for a g.

this is true homie, shipping on that joint was like $150 so if you paid dude $1000 than you really only paid $850 for the actual unit and trust me you ain't going to find a MPC 60 with SCSI for $850! Just say forget it an use floppies until you save another $300 plus shipping to get the SCSI joint.

I saw the Vintage Guy open the MPC60, so I know he didn't take anything.
and I pay $1050, $50 for shipin

Like I said, that won't get shit to taiwan. He said he's out 150 for shipping, which sounds about right. You're lucky it got to you in one piece.

as for the opening, that clears it up. in that case, either malicious intent or some sort of misunderstanding.

Dear Elmacaco
Thanks I am so lucky. Thank you!
Did I wrong?! Description on Ebay fullyupgrade for $1000($50 for shipin total $1050)and I still keep the email we connect each other before.
If I buy fully upgrade $1050 + shipin $150, that's cost me $1200, I am done with this but right now I have to buy a new SCSI card for $300+$1050=1350 do you think it's worth?

Dear Deta!l
Sorry I am very sorry to buy this from you and bother u a lots.
I should buy in Taiwan for $1325 with full upgrade.

Dear all
Thanks for care my problem. I still like this forum.

P.S. Sorry my English is not real good, so some times I may feel some people don't understand what I am talkin about. Peace.......

Dude, ebay is far from a sure bet. Everybody has been ripped off on ebay in some way, on an international sale like that, you knew you were taking a risk, right? Weren't you scared that it wouldn't show up at all?

As for you getting it cheaper of you thought about the risks earlier, well, that's on you and has nothing to do with the discussion at hand. You took a risk (not everybody knows their gear, and has been stated here that many people think the connector on the back means scsi)

Unfortunately the risk you took didn't work out for you in the end.

Just so you know, I bought my 60 "fully upgraded" and it was supposed to have scsi but it didn't. I bought it from a guy in california who is part of a famous Korean hip hop group. He said that he had loaned it to a friend for a while, then the friend bought his own, and must have switched the scsi board in his for the RS connector in the one he bought. I tried to get my cash, kept calling homeboy, never got nothin. I waited, saved up, and got the scsi. I am not sad about it because I love my 60 and it was in very nice shape, so I can't be mad about the cash cuz I love this so much. But see I got burned too.

on an international sale, it would be even harder to try and get money back, since detail says he shipped it with scsi, it is hard to see the misunderstanding that could result in that, so maybe it was a scam.

if you sort it out, cool, if not, report him to ebay if you can't work stuff out with him.

Plus, if you would only be out $25 if you buy the scsi yourself compared to the taiwan price, then you shouldn't bellyache so much.

man, I'm not trying to get over on anybody...this dude is my only negative feedback out of about 100. if I wasn't 20 dollars away from being on the street and didn't KNOW for a fact that it had scsi I would try to help dude out. I paid 150 to ship it to him, 35 for ebay fees and another 35 for paypal fees so I only got a little over 800 for it. Hardly worth the headaches and emails. I'm honestly sorry it didn't workout for dude but I did my part.

Deta!l Just let it go, i am fine right now.
I am tire for this too. I think I won't buy a SCSI, just use my S950.
Hope you can help me in the future.
Nice to meet you and peace.

i got burned off an ebay sale myself. dude advertised as mint 3k le and bought for 1600. i knew it was too cheap for an le but seen other le's go for around that price. when i received it, it was a regular 3k with scratches, burned power supply, busted floppy, no ram upgrade and many busted buttons. dropped 80 for new PS, 60 for floppy and 20 bucks for ram. it did come with a vga board but ill never use it anyway. he had ripped off the floppy cable and i assume he had an internal zip. desoldering the connector and putting on a socket instead of hardwired floppy cable was a pain in the ass.. i still have about 10 buttons to replace and lcd inverter is buzzing like fly on shit. wouldnt mind some new pads and a custom paint job, but who really cares about cosmetics. but half the fun of having vintage gear is fixing it and after restoring it, you can call it your OWN...
