I know this has been brought up several times before, but I have never seen anyone post a solution. The internal clock in my MPC1000 is a bit off, for example if I load an 8 beat sample at 120BPM onto the MPC and try to create a loop, the MPC always adds a fraction of second to the end of the loop so it's not truly 120BPM, and it makes the loop sound weird. Does anyone know how to fix this? (I am running JJOS, but not JJOS2)

You can't set an end loop point?

Internal clock is not off, all the hardware MPC's do that. It's normal.

It's off vs. a DAW, all DAWs have a "true" BPM.
For example, if I load a drum loop I made in a DAW at 120 BPM onto the MPC, and try to get that sample to loop correctly, that extra fraction of a second is troublesome. I have tried to compensate by reducing the BPM on the MPC by the decimal ( for 120, around 129.7), but I can never get it exact.

It's not a daw. Again, it's normal for a hardware mpc to create the 30ms tail on a sample.

It's on you for not knowing how to handle it.

It's on you for not knowing what the machine does.

It's on you for not placing the sample in a sequence at the very first tick and letting it re-trigger again at the beginning of a bar to create the loop in a sequence.

Fix it.

Yikes why are people on this website so hostile I am just trying to figure out a solution.
And, I already am doing that, I am triggering the drum pattern I loaded right at the beginning of the phrase I am trying to record. Because of that extra time it's impossible for me to get it to loop correctly.
I will acknowledge I wouldn't be having this problem if I constructed the beat on the MPC itself, but I am just loading stuff I wrote in a DAW for performing because I don't want a laptop on stage.

nothing is perfect, MPC or DAW, there is always a shortfall. In your case your way too adamant that the sample is %100 legit and correct, and its not the other things in play, like export of sample, sample accuracy of the sampler, exact BPM to the 100th decimal place and things like that that even computers and samplers get wrong. This is how technology is and you have to work with in its limitations.
\
you can simply tell if its too long or short and time stretch it in MPC by a fraction, or trim it, or pitch it, or sequence it. There is 4 ways to solve your problem, so try them all and figure out which one you prefer. If none of them then its time to learn to chop to get the most out of any MPC

It's not "people" on this site, it's just me, blame me. Everyone else is really cool.

Wow I didn't think about time stretching the samples (no sarcasm there), thanks for the suggestion.

well your only asking basic questions, and if ask basic questions, you get basic answers.

You seem to think your entitled to some kind of perfect world that involves no nuanced thinking of many issues at once. Things just don't work like you demand them to, and its not the MPCs fault as thousands of users get around it with out any sarcasm or bitching.

We can only hold your hand so much. You want to learn then you need to check your attitude and engage us with some good faith instead of being a dick about it, it is not hard to do.

So you cant loop a sample, and ignore everything I say about the sample length being inaccurate, that the BPM is not to the 100th decimal place, or a whole lot of other reasons that are at issue with your inability to do a basic task? You should be less up yourself and more humble, and instead of tripping off at me here in reply, maybe your time would be better spent sitting in front of your MPC and thinking about what we told you will affect the outcome. Less ego, more hard work is your task, then come back at us and let us know how you go. This is basic stuff... There is nothing to learn when you think you know everything

Good lord what is your deal. I don't think I know everything, which is why I am on a goddamn forum asking questions. I have spent a lot of time with the machine trying to figure it out and couldn't, so I came here to ask questions, and instead got belittled and attacked for asking questions. I see people do this on this forum a lot and it's truly bizarre to me.. I DID check to see if the sample length was correct, it's exactly 8 measures at 120 BPM in my DAW, when I imported the sample I set the recording parameters to record the sample at the exact length. I triple checked all of this. When I set the sequence in the MPC at 8 measures at 120 BPM, it adds a fraction of section to the end of the loop, which means there is a variance within the MPC, even Lampdog said that it adds 30ms, and the more research I do I am learning that these time variances are common in hardware samplers. And you completely misread my post, I said I wasn't being sarcastic, I honestly didn't think to slow down the clip to accommodate for the extra time. I spend about 2 hours last night experimenting with slowing it down and I still can't get it exact.

you have Dunning Kruger effect basically.
You think you know, but really you do not and you don't listen. When a human plays music, they are not exactly 120BPM, they could be playing at 120.0234 BPM. What is the DAW and MPC gonna do about that? nothing but ignore it, so its not right is it.
It has nothing to do with MIDI clock. MIDI clock has nothing to do with sample accuracy timing.

Do the looping IN sequence. Not just loop while holding the pad down. Let the sequence loop it. use tune, move the sample start point back or forth a tick or two or three.

I've NEVER just looped by holding down a pad, I've always let the sequence loop it. And then it's a balancing act with tune, pitch, ticks, moving, cutting start or just starting over because you've edited too much and can't ever get it right. It's not an easy process unless you've done it several several times.

Adding of 30ms happens when you "record" a sample from sample in, not when importing from computer, or cf (on 2kxl).

Thanks for the advice. I actually am doing it the way you described. I have been messing around by slightly adjusting the tune as well as the BPM by the decimal, but I have yet to get it exactly right, or close enough. I have gotten a little too close which sounds off, and a little too far, which isn't ideal but it sounds better than it being too close.
