Loading other projects into already opened project? MPC Ren

I have a set of about 5-6 songs in one (project 1) with sequences and sounds mapped in banks A-D that I have set up to play live but I am looking for a way to import a separate set of songs (Project 2) into the one I have opened (project 1) but map the (project 2) set in banks E-H so I have access to both sets in the same opened file. Just so I can seemlessly go from 1 set to the other without having to load the second set. The second set I have mapped in banks A-D in it's original file with all sequences reading it as such.

My question is: Is there a way to do this and maintain the mapping while bringing the second set into banks E-H or am I going to have to re-make the second set from scratch in order to place the second set into the first set.

You cannot merge programs, so you'll have to manually set up banks E-H.

However I don't really see the problem, what exactly are you trying to accomplish by merging programs? I think your terminology is a little messed up which makes it harder to understand the set up - when you say 'programs' do you actually mean 'projects', because a program doesn't contain sequences - a project contains sequences. If that's the case, whey not merge the two projects? This is easily achieved by loading project 1, then go to the project folder for project 2 via your browser and drag/drop its own programs and individual sequences into the current project.

Thanks for the reply. You're right, my terminology is off, I did mean project vs programs. I'll try your suggestion this evening.

o would love this to be explained! but please tell me this.. why are all sequences named 1,2,3 in the project folders for each project even when the sequences in the MPC have been named? if i grab a seq 1 from another project & drop it into an open project then it wants to replace the original seq 1,2,3.. etc
this is a crucial addition to my performance capabilities without having to reload a new project each song..

No idea why the sequences in the project folder aren't named to match the actual seqeunce name, I assume it's a technical reason. Can be a pain if you are looking to move sequences around from project to project. I did this recently, I just went to the old project, selected the sequence, File > Save current Sequence' and save it somewhere - this will save it using any name you prefer. You can then manually import this into any other project.

but with over 200 songs to choose from on the MPC i wont be doing that to each sequence in each project, ill just make the crowd wait a bit... sucks at electronic festivals when we up against DJ's that mix as expected.
I really would like to see this evolve.. infact i can make a dozen recommendations for a live show tool that the MPC shld be working towards.. as music production has stepped up in the last 25 years, its left the MPC in the dark as an instrument that hosts your sets..
easy solutions.. dont wait till NI bring it out hearing my requests... they have been trying to convert me for the last 6 years..
MPC forever, just not a fan of being left in the dark as a producer for live performance.
& please dont tell me to host it in a DAW, the MPC has always been my Midi Daw
