Anybody have a problem with automation , in that it suddenly starts drawing random stepped automation events . When this happens the software stops reading any previous automation all together . Have to then save , close and relaunch the software.

Yeah, automation can be quite erratic. For instance, I record some parameter change on some drum/hit sounds and when I go to playback a number of settings within that sound just go right back to zero at points in the song where I didn't record automation.

My work around is this:
If I'm automating a sound I will go right to beginning of the song, arm for recording automation, then simply touch the main settings so they're recorded into the sequence. That way when the track plays back it will revert to the program settings, for that individual sound exactly how I have it setup.

Apparantly it's because I'm using windows 7 , coz the arseoles at akai have dropped support, 4 years before Microsoft , despite half the **** planet still using the os

This is why I still like having a hardware unit around. My MPC2500 may not be as advanced but it has stayed around a lot longer than my other midi controllers.
