Usb to thunderbolt

Has anyone tried the USB to Thunderbolt adaptor as a solution for popping and distortion with a new mac and the ren? I don't want to spend $80 on something that isn't going to work. Thanks!

Yes I did and it didn't work for me, I simply use my duet sound card for the ren.

Insane just how many people are getting this problem, I wonder if Akai are actually working on a solution for this?

I doubt they are fixing ren issues.. I know the touch's interface works well with latest MBP pro.

The customer support tech said that this adaptor would fix the problem with 100% assurance. No questions asked...

I talked to the manager of the akai support and they acknowledge this is a real issue and say they are working on it. It is an issue with macs usb ports and somehow they cant figure out to create a driver that works with them. Its been 2 years so I would assume that would give them enough time.

It didn't work for me. I just use my old faithful Mac Pro Tower for the Ren and my Studio for my MacBook Pro.
