The screen FREEZE when I turned on the MPC

I just had a problem in my RAM so I bought two new RAM ( PC 133 144PIN CL3 SODIMM 256MB),the "PASS"problem was solved

But when I turn on the MPC,The screen FREEZE at :

MPC1000(128MB installed)
JJ OS2XL Ver.:3.52
TAP TEMPO + Power on ----> FREE OS

after that I tried several things like:
1/remove my RAM and it turns on successfully,but when I reseat the RAM problem happens again
2/Change another RAM ,happens again
3/reset (erace +power on),doesn't work
4/swich to FREE OS,and it swich back to 2XL automaticlly ,the FREEZE continues...

I saw in your other topic that you have been buying second hand memory - is this still the case? Have you tried using brand new, good quality branded memory? Otherwise it may be a problem with the memory slot itself.

Yes,the memory is second hand,I will try to.get brand new on ,although it is a bit difficult .BTW are you sure the problem is on the memory stick ,not the machine itself?

This is how u test whether or not it's the RAM or the machine. Without RAM it boots fine? Then Ur RAM is hosed.

Hey Dude,I found the problem is on the RAM, the MPC1000 works again,thanks !!

after the crush of my MPC1000, I bought at least 5 256MB RAM by following the tips in the forum (PC 133 144PIN CL3 SODIMM 256MB (ANY BRAND) ),still didn't work,I was desperate for days, then I notice that all the RAM stick I've bought have 8 banks on each side ,

the RAM I used to use is with 8banks which which means there are 4banks on each side,
then I bought 2 RAM with 8banks,and finalli it works !
