I love Thor, I got it too just because as a reason user I know Thor like the back of my hand, but the routing section is more limited then the reason version, but it's still a sick synth, you turned me onto sunrizer, and I love it,. Thank you lamp

Yeah these AUs are solid. I won't even bother with IAA anymore. We need more synths. I still haven't bought Phonem yet. I read that the AU part is more limited compared to running standalone. Some people were saying it's real clunky saving presets or whatever. I hope we see another synth from Blamsoft. Zero would be nice.

I'm still eyeing up the Moog Model 15, iSEM, iVCS3 and various other bits and bobs. The wish list is getting bigger! Gadget is by far my favourite app so far though.

Phonem seems a bit complex to me as well. But the sounds you can make are like no other. So I'm keeping tabs on how it's working for everyone. Wolfgang Palm's apps never go on sale. So I gotta make sure it's worth it.

Model 15 sounds incredible. Best sounding analog emulation out there. Lots of fun if you like working with modular synths. It's more of a CPU hog than most synths. I need an iPad Pro if I wanna use it as an IAA in Cubasis with other instruments.

ISEM is awesome. Great sounding synth with nice filters too. The only negative I'm aware of is it not recognizing it's save state properly as an AU.

iVCS3 seems just as complex as Phonem. I haven't used it much.

I still agree with you about Gadget. Loading AU instruments in Cubasis is an improvement over using IAA instruments. But it's still not as flawless as using Gadget. It's a hell of a lot easier making patterns in Gadget than it is to use Cubasis's piano roll. But hopefully Cubasis 2.0 will improve on things. I hope they add some kind of step sequencing or something similar to Patterning. I'm not a fan of using other apps like Modstep alongside of Cubasis. It's too clunky and most of those apps are buggy. Steinberg's keeping a tight lip about what'll be added in Cubasis 2.0. So we won't know anything until release day. Until then, Gadget is still the best app for getting things done. I hope we get more synths. I dont care for the last 3 gadgets that were released.

The sound of the VCS3 is synonymous with some classic tunes, but it was also hammered as a sound effects synth for British TV shows from the 70s onwards. I'll buy it for the nostalgia and just record long noodling sessions and chop out the parts that work.

It's tricky for Steinberg because they're scaling down a deep piece of software into a relatively simple app. I'm not a huge fan of the Media Bay in the desktop version but thankfully you can avoid using it, whereas in Cubasis you have to use it. I'd also like a way of removing the 'free' content because most of it sounds shite but you still have to navigate through it. Gadget on the other hand just works and is enjoyable to use. It's killer with the nanoKey Studio.

I bought iVCS3 for the same reason. Lots of cool presets between Pink Floyd, The Who, and all. Cool sound effects from all the old sci-fi flicks. The emulation of this synth is highly regarded by old hardware users. One of these days I'll spend more time with it. I told myself that I'd start out with only a couple of synths when I got the iPad 2 years ago. But I'm a synth junky and had to buy a shitload of them and wear myself too thin. But it's all good. I havent regretted most of my purchases.

How's the Nanokey Studio treating you? I'm looking to buy one eventually.

So far so good. It's cheaply made, so I doubt it'll handle too much abuse, but it's cool for what it is.

I guess the build quality is the same as their older Nanokeys. Probably still last longer than the Novation Launchkey.

I've had my eye on the nanokey studio for awhile mainly for the scale feature, totally came to the conclusion that I don't need anymore gear, so I've been using my old ass lpd8 with my iPad mini

I'm super impressed with the iPad + nanoKey Studio setup, especially with Gadget because everything is pre-mapped, but obviously it should work with all apps that support midi over Bluetooth.

I worked on a track at my girlfriend's the other night and when I had a listen to it the day after I was bowled over with how decent it sounded. This little mobile setup is way better than I thought it was going to be, and it's fun which is the main thing.
