FLoppy question By gballin123 Wed Jan 05, 2005 2:01 am Does the MPC 2000 and 2000xl just take regular ole computer floppies with wav files loaded on or does it have to be something special????? Thanks gballin123 Posts: 102 Joined: Tue Nov 30th, 2004 Location: Houston
By Lampdog Wed Jan 05, 2005 2:38 am Welcome to the boards, and yes, they are regular ole pc floppies. throw some wav files on it and load it into your mpc2k/2kxl. The only "special" I can think of is you should format the floppy in ypur pc as fat/fat16 and use sample filenames no longer than 8 characters. You know how to format your floppy on pc right? By Lampdog Thu Jan 06, 2005 3:31 am I'm playing with you, here you go. dub click - my computer. place floppy to be erased/formatted into the drive. right click - floppy drive icon. use the drop down menu and choose fat or fat16. now format the floppy. Put some 44khz/16bit wav samples on that disc, take it to and load it into your mpc. Stop getting automatically offended when you see gold letters!
