if you just want to sample the 404 with fx into the mpc, yes you can hook it up to a channel, hook that aux up to the mpc, then record normally.

if you are processing the mpc with the 404 fx...no. you can't playback and record at the same time on that mpc.

Oh ok I was just looking for a easy way to apply effects from the sp 404 into Mpc without all the hassle of disconnecting my mixer. So what your sayin is If I had sp 404 hookup to the mixer aux send with the effect I wanted it would only record to my daw and not the Mpc?

So are you applying effects before you put it in the Mpc or are you applying effects in realtime in Mpc while the sequence is playing?
