MPC Studio Black registration problem

Hi everybody,

I have a problem installing my new MPC Studio Black.

I had an old MPC Studio installed on my PC last year but sold it and uninstalled the software.
Now I've bought a Studio Black, registered it with my Akaipro account, downloaded the installer and followed all the steps to install the software.

Now when I open the MPC software and switch on the Studio Black the software doesn't recognize the new MPC. In the preferences under "registration" there's still the serial number of my old MPC Studio ( when I sold the old MPC I sent a mail to Akai to de-register my serial number ).
And the Studio Black is just giving a "light show" but doesn't interact with the software.

Can anybody help? Thanks!

Did you install drivers for the controller?

Uninstalling the MPC Software does not uninstall the 'MPC.settings' file which contains your original registration details, so when you reinstalled it's just picking up your old reg details. I don't think there' anyway to remove this other than manually deleting the 'MPC.settings' file. On a Mac, it's located at

User > Library > Application Support > MPC > MPC.settings

in Windows, it will be in a similar location within your user folder. Make sure the MPC Software is not running, rename the file to MPC.settings.old and re-launch the MPC Software. It will create a new settings file but without your reg details. You can now activate the software/hardware as normal.
