Aksys nightmares

I did the whole Virtual Box thing and got Ak.sys running in XP.

Even managed to get it to load my MPC and make some programmes.

Then i lost the connection and now I can't get it back.

XP still sees the MPC at the USB. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and Ak.sys, but no luck. The 4000 is nowhere to be found. Any ideas?

You have to assign the MPC again via the USB context menu in the top bar of Virtual Box.

I sorted it. Seems in spite of uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it, there was still an issue. managed to solve it through device manager. Thank F! After the ball ache of getting this up and running it would have sucked if it never came back!

Mine Virtual Box did go doolally like that one time too, my MPC4000's USB connection just stubbornly would not show up in the virtual XP machine.....
I never did figure it out, and then it just worked on a different day, insouciently pretending to have no memory of ever failing.

I suspect that I'd just plugged in some odd random USB device that day which confused the enumerations "or something" (whatever that means) and switching my computer off and on again fixed it
