If they release a new model, I hope it's a portable size. I'll be tempted to get another Touch.

Something CAME already. The REAL reason for the adjustment. The best move I made since NI teamed with Softube.

Somebody saw a standalone hybrid prototype, supposedly it was called MPC Legacy.

It had a touch strip and had performance features, sound familiar?

It copied a apc40 and a Push controller.

In the UK the price of the MPC Touch has risen. It was released at £499 in November, I paid £440 in January, a couple of months back it was £529 - it's now £569.

Oh damn. I didn't sell my MPC touch soon enough. Now I'm taking a hefty price cut. MPC touch is a joke of all the mpcs.

The Touch was (relatively) more expensive in the US upon release compared to the EU (the UK release price was £416 ex VAT - at the time this was approx $640 USD, however the Touch was actually selling for $799). Basically the US was paying 25% more than the UK.

Yes, the changes in exchange rate have pushed up the UK pricing, but it seems the US price ' drop' is really nothing more than Akai finally selling the Touch to US customers at a price that matches the current UK price model ($600 is pretty much identical to the current ex-VAT Touch price).
