The only thing I remember him saying about Native is that they had a performance machine that he saw. He wouldn't elaborate past that, I'll see if I can dig up the post.

Cool , I missed that .

Looks like the post is gone, here is closet quote from a repost on NI's forums. Looks like this was Maschine Jam. I do remember saying it was a performance piece when the thread was up.

I have not demoed, seen or "Touched" anything new from Native Instruments. I have absolutely no idea what their new products look like or what it's supposed to be.

All I know is what I was told by someone who works in the tech industry.

Something is coming and as they said it's going to be the "Clash of the Titans" between them and Akai at NAMM 2016."

I remember that now , touched -touch strips , interested to what akai does at namm. Can't see native dropping anymore hardware till next year ,still can't see the Roland sampler how he described it tho, but u never know ,I didn't think they'd actually make a system 8

Right now all eyes are on Akai, people on here are getting restless.

obviously Akai had some major issues with the release of 2.0 - they specifically said it would be out mid 2016 - and that was a complete failure. Doubt they'll release it till Namm, their early announcement just made them look even worse imo.

well apparently JJ was the outsourced party that was hired to make the OS for the 1000/2500. Akai broke contract by not paying so they couldn't retain the rights to the OS or source needed to continue to make further versions... (JJ still owned his own work) so i suppose to recoup some cash, he made a new version and it was a hit. Then I guess with members here on the forum they were able to develop it further to what we see today. No way nukai would have taken it that far... look at other stuff they have made. So for the mpc computer software, they really were uncharacteristic by actually supporting it as far as they have until now...

The AES 2016 show is happening, and nothing from Akai so far, so most likely it'll be 2017 when they drop 2.0 - No words from Dan no tweets from Pete, just good old fashioned silence in a world full of communication. Thanks Akai for keeping us up to date!

But without a major update the MPC touch is useless.

Its like a Ferrari with a ford motor in site.

What don't you like about the touch?

I don't like that the samples don't time stretch with the tempo.
Or in listen mode you can't point with you finger on a part of the sample and play it back on that point.
To make a sample loop is very devious.

It's a nice product only the software is not good thought about.
