Ren got that limited drop treatment a few times and was discontinued later on.

Its bound to happen sooner or later. Should we speculate on the next model and when?

The up down left right buttons?

Yeah, the missing < > buttons – that was my first "horror" with the Touch.
I got used to using < > to jump by bars with all other MPCs, so when I realized those were missing and that you cannot jump by bars by any quick method...a massive downer for me.

Damn yeah. Why would they remove them. I guess there will be fix to add buttons to the touch screen in software version 2.9!

We'll see, but that'll never be the same thing.
Those << < LOCATE > >> buttons have always had a very central function for my use of MPC. TBH, if I had realized better they're not there, I never would've swapped my Ren (which I loved using) for the Touch.

I'm a long time MPC user I go way back... I used almost every mpc except for one (mpc60)

_The touch is just different. It's not the same as a regular MPC. It's good though for this day and era. But the workflow is not as fast as the old.
One reason I say this because of the soft rubbery buttons. (So slow to press because they wobble) which causes you to press them slow and harder.

The other reason is because the software and the LCD gui screen is not optimized for fast flowing production.
The main (hardware) button to return you home does not work on all screens. Why!!?lol

The LCD software screen should have more intuitive colorful coordinated functions. Not just all grey.
Also has anyone noticed the latency on the MPC touch and power consumption for CPU is much higher vs the Renaissance.

_One thing I really like that they added to the MPC touch is file bin view. I love how you can quickly change each pad sound.

So my overall thing with the MPC touch is just alot of small minors things. But they add up fast because there is just too many. They are turning into 1 big problem for me at least and my workflow compared to older models.

Yeah i stay with the ren because i'm in this thing for the mpc workflow. If i'm gonna learn a whole new workflow, i might as well just learn ableton or logic, because my tracks all just end up in a daw anyways. That's why the touch, although pretty, is completely pointless to me.

The whole design of the MPC Touch is poorly done. Having the pads off to one side is just a piss poor decision from that clown-faced Dan. The MPC Renaissance is dynamic in a studio environment whereas the Touch is severely outclassed, due to lack of connectivity and tactile functions. It's always been just a sales filler until they drop the next flagship. Those who thought it was the flagship are unfortunately idiots...

You cant satisfy everybody. It works for me. I don't have a problem with the transport buttons. I got used to it, I'm pretty fast on it. Fastest thing I ever used to chop. What screen doesn't allow you to return to the main screen?

I did notice it's a CPU hog, on a newer iMac it runs great. It slows down on my laptop, it is almost 9 years old though.

If people don't have a reason to use the controller, you can't argue with that. I don't think there's something as integrated for Logic. I use Ableton also. I like the MPC controller for the interface and contrast to the Ableton sound and workflow. I didn't like Push that much.

For me I would want to access the touchscreen with my right hand, I prefer it on that side. I think the older MPC's besides the 2000 were good for left handed people.

The infatuation with flagship is weird to me. When I first saw it, I didn't think a new flagship.
Probably just my thinking and needs the MPC Studio was more appealing than the Renn.

If you want to get technical the definition of flagship can be applied. Especially after the Renn was discontinued. Anyways, what a silly point.

I guarantee you that I will run circles around you with that slow mpc touch when it comes to professional prouction. Have you ever used a pro standalone MPC before?

Maybe you just dont know any better. Because there is a difference. MPC Renaissance comes close to that reliable Speedy feeling.

How about this watching old videos of producers making tracks with these old mpcs machines and watch how fast they move. Then watch a video of a person making music with a MPC touch. Big difference. :smoker:

I'm not new to these, I've owned a 60, 60II, Two 3000's, 2000, two 4000's, 1000, 2500, 5000.

dustymaestro, karatedan, and other bs names I used on this website. I've been coming to these forums before the karatedan join date.

Back to the facts instead of emotional statements, what screen doesn't let you go back to the main screen after hitting the Touch button?

:Sigh: you owned all thoes units but cant tell whats so werid about the touch. Come on! Your joking right :hmmm:

Go to track selected and push the knob in. Then press the main button. Go to rename a track or sequence and then press the main button. See what happens. Do your own experiments.

Qlink edit screens coming soon. LOL it's been a year already thats soon... lol

MPC touch does not have a hardware Zoom like the MPC Renaissance to zoom the software.

There's no way to change bars fastly in step sequencer mode.

How many more beneficial things do I have to show you. Because wait, yes there is more for that list.

Flagship influctuation let's see. Well things that are not on MPC touch. Because it's obviously not a flagship. How does one connect a guitar without using a mixer. How does one Record percussion to add to his beat without using a mixer. Because you can't use a condenser microphone with this unit either. What about sampling a turn table? This thing does not even have digital out or in. I shouldn't have to point out everything that's wrong with the unit.

I'm not getting paid for that.

Theres more....

Silly, I don't complain that it doesn't have a synth. I don't complain it doesn't have keys. I don't complain about it's design. I don't complain it's not standalone. It is what it is. You didn't know those things before you bought it?

The zoom is with your fingers, it's a touch screen.

Why would you go to name a sequence and not name it? Your already in main mode.

There's a bar arrow in step sequencer mode.

You buy it and than complain it doesn't have a phono input? :hmmm:

If it had all those things, you would complain about the price?
