I recently decided to use my Ren with my Surface Pro 3.

Having just reinstalled my OS (Windows 10) and bringing it fully up to date Anniversary Update and the accumulatives, I installed the MPC software, my DAW (Sonar Platinum with its plugin's), FL Studio, Addictive Drums 2, Massive 1.5.1, Rapture Pro and the UVI Workstation.

I also installed two of my Waves plugins (the NX, and TrueVerb). Attempting to scan instantly crashes the MPC and its scanner.

Even removing all VST's from the targeted folder, down the MPC's vst alone, fails to resolve this. I can empty the folder completely and the MPC still crashes! It seems the scanner is just crashing, even before it starts scanning... What's wrong here?

This happens on all Windows tablets.

I'll try that, thanks

kaydigi's suggestion did get me past the instant crashing, but the Waves stuff is crashing every time I scan the shell, maybe this is an issue with Windows too... I'll try it

I never could fix the Waves issue, I just stopped using them completely.

That's kinda messed up though... and what's worst is now, the MPC is the only software I've used that can't run Waves plugins and it also is the only one I can't get to load my KORG plugins in 64bit. Granted, KORG's stuff is old, but all my other hosts can run them without issue, particularly the LegacyCell.

I was gonna try the 1.6 idea, but AKAI's site has just stopped logging me in now, for some reason...

kaydigi, there's only one issue with the fix you showed me, the scaling on the plugin windows are now off, like they are stuck to the 100% setting and there's all this space around them...

I actually did change the text back, that's when I noticed it causing the plugins to display with extra black borders on the right-hand sides... the Surface Pro 3 defaults to 150%, I changed the text to 100 as you said, and the scan worked. But after changing it back to 150, I get big black borders around the plugins, and it only happens with the MPC.

Damn. Yeah I delete mpc.app and then install 1.6.
scan plugins.
Test them to make sure they are there and work.
Install latest version of mpc.
Next time you get a new plugin(unless it is another waves) press 'scan new' and it skips out anything already there so you don't have to repeat the whole process.

So I tried scanning the Waves plugs with 1.6, then moving up to 1.9.6 and that mess worked... Good Stuff greavous420!!! Akai seriously needs to get this problem dealt with properly though!
