2000xl ZIP disk reader broken

my zip disk reader shat out on me today, the green light stays lit and it does not even register the disk being inserted when i go to load or save a file. i can still sample and pretty much use everything normally, but i cant go in and recover any old sounds which is obviously a huge bummer. anyone have any advice on an easy fix? thanks in advance

lmao i feel you they honestly do suck, i thought about doing that exact thing once but the zip was the only thing i had available right away back when i came up on the 2k so i just stuck with it and it worked fine for a while. i probably will look into that now though thanks man

In all honesty... Zip100's totally suck, Zip250's semi-suck and the Zip750's are a-ight.
