MPC Touch Price Drop

No company is changing country-wide pricing that quickly, otherwise with currency fluctuations they'd be changing the price on a daily basis and that's not how global companies price their products - we're not talking live currency conversions here. The drop back to £499 is probably related to the $200 discount currently applied in the US.

does tutor know which day the price returned back to £499? perhaps we can correlate with other products , for example I had heard that the apple had raised their prices due to brexit, have these now gone down?

Are you aware of how much the exchange rate has actually changed in the past couple of weeks? Not that much, the mid market rate today is 0.799, a few days ago it was 0.819. That doesn't account for the MPC Touch dropping from £569 to £499. I also believe the £499 drop happened well before yesterday. You can probably find out using pricespy uk, they have historical data charts for most products.

Global companies will weather short term and minor long term fluctuations in exchange rate, it will normally balance itself out in the long term.

Akai, like most companies eventually increased the UK pricing after Brexit, but that was due to the significantly large change in exchange rate, but I doubt we'll see any 'related' drops in pricing now until the exchange rate gets somewhere nearer pre-Brexit levels (e.g. $1 = approx £0.68)

My local Guitar Center (as usual) is so far out of the loop that they are trying to sell a used MPC Touch for $625.99. Lol. I called them up just for kicks and asked about it. The guy tells me "Oh sure, its used but in great condition, still has the plastic over the screen". I then told him that on their main website the MPC Touch is selling for $599 new. He acted as if he couldn't find it and then asks me for the product number. After a while he comes back and says "...ohhhhh, yeah, it's on sale so that explains why it's cheaper." He didn't offer to reduce the price on the used one accordingly. He just said "Yeah, that's a good price." I guest the used one will sit there for a few months like the rest of their over priced used equipment.
