Yep yep .. as much as I love the design (from an economical point of view) this is a big omission on the touch mpc flow, my first thought : it´ like losing fingers

As far as the arrow buttons, I use them ALL THE TIME. Moving the cursor around within a sequence, sliding around notes, etc. They're so so so crucial for my workflow.

Let's say you have 16 bars. You want to quickly hop to the beginning of bar 15 to record a ghost kick.
It's three clicks: >>, <, <. That takes around a second when it's in your muscle memory. While doable, it takes way longer using the touch screen. Small things like these pile up when you use it a lot; not a biggie for a casual user.

Here´ hoping Akai thought this through and are planning to release a touch line of controllers to complete the Touch/live as complete daw control
*Armrest
*Mixer Fader board with mutes/solo/ select
*Controller interface for programs
*Classic MPC transport, menu and numeric buttons
*Slide out mirror on the bottom with golden frame ( yhea uknowy ..
etc..

At this moment, everything you've heard about the eclipse is pure speculation..

The Eclipse was leaked by James Jeffery the other day.

Did you see the video of RZA crafting a beat on it yet?

That 'Eclipse' looks awfully like the old Ensoniq ASR 10 desktop module...

And, sorry to dis an industry legend, but that beat RZA was making was a mess. It reminds me of the Steve Martin film 'All of Me' where he has to share half of his body with Lily Tomlin's character. His jazz guitarist character suddenly can't control half his body so plays some dissonant rubbish. The boss walks by and hears it and accuses him of being stoned or drunk. His band member friend covers for him by saying that it was some 'out there' freestyling that the boss wasn't hip enough to understand. The boss wanders off confused.

That looks a little like the guy beside RZA trying desperately to believe that what he laying down must be something 'out there' too. Well, made me chuckle anyway...

Ok, on with the thread...

Yes, Its so confusing but I would love for that model to be named 'Eclipse'

On the other hand I believe the 'MPC live' is going to be the only MPC Akai will release. Because the Eclipse would have been the flag ship but there are no FCC documents present.

I'm happy with my MPC Touch but I would love to have something more like the Eclipse or lets say Ren + Touchscreen. It doesn't have to be a stand alone as I will always have my computer next to it.

A new Device has been entered to the INMUSIC BRANDS FCC list:

https://fccid.io/Y4O-JP07

It's a Professional single deck media player. Don't know what to think of it. Only this time you cant view the documents (for obvious reason)

He also predicted a Roland sampler with ACB tech modeling classic samplers such as SP for NAMM '16 (was a big thread on GS) but we never got it.
I hope that'll comes out at NAMM '17.
Some speak highly of the guy but I don't know what to think.
