Right. So probably no new product on Black Friday then, seeing they're still working on 2.0.

It was never gonna come out on Black Friday even if 2.0 was ready. Black Friday is about selling cheap products at a reasonable price that are filling up space in a distribution warehouse, as if they dont reduce the price and create hype they wont sell and the manufacturer/distributer has lost money on them.

No sensible company would release a brand new product on such a day as it will get buried under all the 'deals' going around.

Yeah, I agree. That started as a rumor, just like "Eclipse", and rumors ain't good. The only real deal we have so far, after all, is MPC Live.

If 2.0 isn't coming out in 2016, Akai will get roasted, that's for sure

They say there's three sides to a story. Let's just say Numark aren't the only ones who pulled a jack. Karma is a biatch or a savior.

I can't say too much, I don't want to bring people involved that are not even here.

All I can say is if what I have been told is true, karma is real.

When this person told me about certain events, I just shut up. After I watched a portion of that video, the first thing I thought about was karma.

Even though this person is a friend, I still know the three story rule. This has nothing to do with the law, just karma.

the dude going off in that redit post is the same guy as Relickushking how was emotionally drivel; and attacking like a **** , there was nothing constructive in his dialogue.

most of his complaints seem to be based on his own stupidity and poor decision making; then he lashing out based on his assumptions not being met.

MPC Touch was never the flagship; so anyone who brought the Touch on that basis is very misguided.
By Eyalc Wed Nov 23, 2016 12:25 pm
I don't agree with a lot of what the dude says in that rant, I actually think the Touch is nice. Personally I'm looking forward to having a standalone MPC again with the Live. And last year I didn't think I'd be saying that. But I realized the MPC Software is actually pretty nice. Much of my last album (in my signature) was done using an MPC Touch.

But... he (assuming "he") did make several valid points - it's just his delivery that clouds them. The Touch isn't fully integrated with the software. They touted it as such. In the day and age of social media, 11 months of silence from a company will do more harm than good. That iconic 3000 circuitry that turned out to be a lie. Plugin mode which was half-baked from the start, but touted as a fully functional plugin capability. So I don't mind his rant so much - he has reason to feel that way IMO. Some people just can't turn off the emotion when they communicate. LOL

People love this Akai stuff - you can't buy that with marketing in this day and age - that only comes from years and years of brand development and innovative product and feature introductions. Their rep is wholly built on the 60, 3000, 2000, 4000 and the S-series samplers. Look at the innovations that Akai put into each one of those when they were released. Since then though, even though they've done some good things, the :hmmm: stuff has far outweighed the good.

This. They're not establishing trustworthiness.
Let's say MPC Live comes out with 2.0. Software always progresses, and at some point they might show features of 2.5 and say it'll be coming, which will probably help shift a few units (I'm sure the NAMM announcement of 2.0 did that to an extent). With a company like that, you'll never know when it'll come, and you may feel let down eventually.

I say they need to completely revamp their marketing / social media department who'd actually think what's best for them (if they even have one, heh).

I think this is probably the bit that's hardest to swallow.....

if they fugged up on the ETA just grow a pair and say so......people will have far more tolerance for an open and honest approach than one which seems to dangle the carrot and then run off with it........leaving carrot lovers hungry and bewildered....

This applies to life in general: if you're open and honest even when you cannot meet a schedule, people very seldom can get angry at someone when they're being upfront and honest about it. However, if they say nothing and leave people hanging, that's a different story.

E.g., I run a one-man mixing and mastering company, doing m&m every day. It's of the utmost importance to me to keep my clients updated and maintain open communication. I can't afford to say "I'll send your album on Tuesday" and then be all quiet till Friday, if I need more time; in that case I'd sure as heck inform my client of the delay on Monday night or Tuesday noon and say I'm sorry. Everyone can take that. But if you say nothing and let people wait, they'll go elsewhere, you can be sure of that. There's always a competitor or a few that people can run to.
I.e., don't rely on people's patience too long if you give them nothing while they're waiting on you.
To me, that's like a red cloth to a bull, and I always drop those people out of my life (gotta say that during my music career, I've worked with way too many people like that and I just can't take it, as it always makes me feel I'm not respected, and with those people, I won't work with).

this is typical japanese business mentality / communication / lack thereoff
if they say they will deliver they will deliver, there has to be no further communication from their/that point on

trust me, i'm working for one

u speaking common sense however we did not directly pay akai to deliver a project in a specific timeframe as per the case u gave with ur clients.

we brought a product and when and if they update it is down to them; also NI left maschine users hanging for 2 years while they proceeded to flog them sample pack after sample back, and drip feed them the most menial updates.

so this is not a Japanese thing this is most of the companies in general; they are not responsive, and its good we have social media so we can get at them publicly.
