I'm new with music production and there are some things i don't quite understand.
I bought myself a MPC element because it was the cheapest way to start making fun with a MPC.
I've first started to play around with the Essentials software to get used to my new toy and now i think that without saying that i've mastered it, i quite understand it well. Making 4 bar loops is fun but now i want to make a full song. I have a lot of ideas but my lack of knowledge got me stuck. I've tried splitting different parts of the song in different sequences in the Elements software, but that's is the less conveniant thing to do in the world.
Plus if one day i want to learn the secrets of mixing a song to make it sound great, i might want to get out of Essentials.
So i got myself Logic Pro X, now i manage to have multiple instances of Essentials in my logic pro X, chose my VST plugins, and have a multiple track project where i can switch between my tracks and stuff. But still... This is a loop.
I expected to create a patten of 4 bars or more on each track (instance of Essentials) then place them as i desire on the Logic Pro timeline. Not at all, the fact that there is something on the timeline or not does not matters at all. Since i've created a pattern on the track, he plays loop if i don't mute it....
I'm a bit lost here ^^ I start to wonder if i misunderstood something.
What i might have understood is that if i want to do a full song i have to use instruments and VST plugins directly in Logic Pro and not in the instance of MPC element. But it resumes the problem to use the MPC just as a basic 16key MIDI controller then.
If somebody could tell me on what i'm wrong or right or what i have misenderstood i would be infinitely thankful !
