What is that cable called that powers the internal zip drive

I just bought a mpc 2000xl with a internal zip drive installed, zip drive was not working so I opened the case a noticed there were no cables connected to the Internet zipdrive, however I managed to find a ide cable all I need is the power cable to power it up BUT what is that cable called? where can I find it? Any links? Mpc stuff have it but its expensive

It is a type of MOLEX cable. It is one of the most popular MOLEX connector used.

I need the one which connects straight into the motherboard of mpc2000xl, what that connector

Thanks for your reply I have tried googling mini molex I just can't find it

on the motherboard of the 2000xl there will be a spot with 4 pins sticking up.. it should be fairly close to the drive bay where the internal zip drive is located.

those 4 pins get inserted into a mini molex connector. On the back of the internal zip drive it probably has a regular molex connector.

and as you can see on the regular sized molex connector... it is male (pins).. you probably require female so perhaps this would help:

Hey thanks for the reply, the connection in the first picture fits onto the back of the zipdrive but the other end wont fit onto the mpc motherboard, however I will try to look for the cable in the second picture.

then you are looking at the wrong thing on the motherboard.



on the bottom right of that motherboard in the pic is a red and black cable... that is where it connects.

that small connector is called mini molex.

Ok ill go to my local cable shop and see if they have this mini molex cable, thanks

yeah bring your zip drive with you and tell them you want the zip drive to connect to mini molex .. you can tell them it is the same connector that floppy drives connect with for power.

unfortunaly they dont have a cable that power cable that connects to the mpc motherboard, so im out of luck, i even took the mpc with me and zip drive
