Hey all, nice forum!
Here's the deal. I've been recently using my MPC 1000XL with JJOS off the bat, never used the original. I have been tirelessly looking at faqs and videos daily and I'm getting the hang of sample and chopping and what not.
Only real problem I have right now is that let's say I record a sample then assign the pads from a drum loop, I chop the hats and kicks and snares down to get each of them on the pad and go to record the sequence.
I start with the hats. I record the hats on track 1 or 2, either one. Now when I go to use the kicks and snares while playing the hat sequence, the kick and snare (or basically any other sound from this same sample) get cut off and I can't hear them fully.
I heard I should set it to poly, but there happens to be a sound at the end of my snare I want to keep but don't want it to always overlap every time I press it.
How can I prevent this from happening? Am I doing something wrong?
