Akai MPC Touch - Touch screen not working

Hey guys, I received an Akai MPC Touch for Christmas, and while I was able to install everything including the drives and MPC software, there's one big problem - The touch screen is not working.

I've disabled the Mirror view thing from earlier, and everything else responds on the device itself, but the touch screen is not functioning at all, which a huge part of the MPC Touch.

Can somebody here help me out please? We spent £500 on this and to see it not properly function is legitimately dissappointing. BTW, I use a 2013 MacBook Pro.

Which Mac OS version is your computer running?

I'm using a Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan.

So do you actually see something on the Touch screen?
Make sure the USB cable is connected directly to your computer, as connecting it to a hub may not work.

My iMac has El Cap, and it works fine with it.

Yes, I can see perfectly with the screen, but it's not responding to any of my inputs. The MPC software works just fine and I have been able to make some pretty cool beats!

Wasn't there another new 'Touch' user a few weeks ago who had to open his 'Touch' and found a loose connector?

I think that guy had a completely dead screen. I think in this case you might just be unlucky and have a faulty unit. The best option would be to call Akai support as soon as they re-open after Xmas and see what they have to say about it.

I'd give it a go with another computer, and if that ain't working, get in touch with your store and get a new one.

What Mpc software version are you using
Just a thought tutor mentioned updated drivers for the Mac in this thread

Apparently there not available though the software updater ,you need to download them from the aka is site .
Maybe that will help
