Why would you upgrade, if you hate the product you own and you hate company itself? Sorry, but it makes no sense to me.

I'm not Akai fanboy even though I owned MPC for many years now, but it feels like some people expect who knows what and then their expectations are not met, they go on internet screaming. Doing research before spending money is the thing to do.

Or maybe you got a lot of dough to spend on products you don't like, if so you are gonna be completely fine.

Im going to upgrade because it will hopefully make the product much better. And because im already going to lose a lot of money if I sell it,& hopefully they warnt lying about that too when pete goodlife said it was a free upgrade if you bought touch withing a year. So many of your attitudes seem to be well if you dont like them outright lying to us then not even having the decency to update the situation to everyone they knows waiting based on their false promises, then we should just sell our equipment at a loss & shut up. Who are you guys to be questioning our specific motives for simply bringing up these obvious truths on a forum dedicated to a leak about promised items, that the companies too cowardly to address.(& Sorry but to me their cowards,at least dan is. When you promise hundreds if not thousands of people something & cant complete your promise you should be a man & let those people know whats going on at least)I dont ask for much just for others to at least act with a little honor, most companies actually do at least in this regard.the final fantasy reference is spot on,but theres millions of others. And I dont think anyone a fanboi I just think you guys dont think much of us that were"stupid".

To Zangetsu and Madhornet:

From my experience Akai was always bad at communicating, so if that changed it would be nice surprise for me. I agree that it's bad that they didn't come out and say: "sorry for the delays, we are working on it etc. etc.", but I really doubt they are gonna put old software in these newer MPCs and if they don't update Touch to 2.0 it will be truly retarded decision.

It's cool Squaresoft communicated, but no Akai is not the only one. Just on top of my head Blizzard soonTM - waiting for features previously announced 2 years. World of Warcraft example where they tell you, they are gonna fix your character...in a year or so or maybe in next expansion. Valve is another company who announces their features (not full games) to release it 3 years later. The only thing that makes it worse in Akai's case is they don't say anything, but I doubt they stopped working on it.

I don't think the miscommunication is acceptable in this day and age, but it doesn't bother me as much. What I care about is that the Touch has had "coming soon" on some things since it was released. IMO, after a year of being able to work on 2.0, there shouldn't be any issues with *everything* working as it's supposed to be. I understand bugs... but "coming soon" - not good.

Hey guys I talked to someone at zzzounds, guitar center etc. that said mpc 2.0 is supposed to be announced any day now in next 2 weeks. I dont want to be held responsible if Im wrong. Hopefully im right. He said he has inside knowledge that its completed & their just finishing the commercials etc.He said the reason the site was down was because they were updating the registration because their about to announce it. I dont want to give up my source.

You don't need to but thanks for sharing the news. It sounds in line with our expectations (NAMM2017) 15 more days to go..

sensible critique is valid but over emotional temper tantrum type outbursts is just childish; complaining that the price went down after a year; when every company does the same, it would seem unfair to blame akai for that.

I get it that people were misled about the time frames for 2.0 (but from my understanding this was not intentional)

I get the the communication was non-existent but this is not unique to akai; as I have told you NI did the same for 2 years with maschine.

zangetsu01 wrote: And instead of Akai updating the software with these minor functionalities they decide to lower the price like it's nothing. To me as a touch owner it feels like my touch is going to be obsolete, outdated all together with a support drop.

Remember when they released the touch, it's slogan was THE RETURN OF THE KING.

In my opinion when you are talking about a king it means that the KING RULES OVER ALL. They might not have said it but when your talking 'KING' it means your talking about a flagship. Well it does a great job but it doesn't rule in my studio. I want to use 'side chaining' and 'Izotope stutter' now I need a daw to fix that for me. and these coming soon sections, come on man how soon?

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Akai (I bet I'll be one of the first to buy the MPCX) but it's not normal for a company to treat their loyal customer/fans with silence.. In fact this the first time I experienced such behavior.

the talk of the touch being obsolete is all in ur imagination; as the touch will run the same way as the live just without standalone; seems like ur just upset that u no longer have the latest model of mpc, but if it still works for you that should not be an issue.

If u want the latest just sell and get a live when it drops.

You keep talking about return of the king; but that shows u read to much into marketing rhetoric; u should seek to remain objective this will stop u from being suckered into buying in at the wrong time.

as mentioned most manufacturers drop they prices after the product has been out for 6 months to a year so this should come as no surprise.

The coming soon pages u should of known this had u done sufficient research prior to purchase; if those coming soon features were vital to ur workflow u should not of mad the purchase until those features were enabled.

Its always best to buy a product for the features it has at the time of purchase rather than what features may be promised in the future.

regarding the silence I agree in this age of social media its not acceptable to be silent; however NI did the same with maschine for two years, so this is not something unique to akai

It's probably best that you stop thinking jpeg.

This sub-forum is clearly not the right place to be posting about the new standalone MPCs, so when Tutor sets up a new sub-forum shall we banish anyone who only likes controllers?

I'm sure the general consensus would be that people should be free to post their own opinions, as it is a forum after all. It's up to Akai to prove the doubters wrong, and it's up to the users and potential buyers to hold them to account.

:worthy:

No need for anyone around here to rip open the shirt exposing the giant "AG" symbol underneath which might stand for "Akai Guy" or that other thing with Ace and Gary off the cartoon Saturday Night Live used to show every time someone has a minor complaint over an Akai product....

the touch has been the main topic of discussion so as that is a controller; it appears that my posts were in the correct place.

most of the back on forth discussions I have had have been with touch early adopters; who feel dissatisfied with the price drop and missing features.
