MPC Live + MPC X: new standalone touchscreen MPCs?

True to that.. post up one simple thought and it spreads like wildfire..

MPC X as standalone at $2000 pricetag would still be a big interest to me - if it had full feature sampling plus came with all bells and whistles. Large hard drive capacity (250gb - 500gb) and RAM (2GB dedicated sample RAM, 2GB system RAM) already installed, full feature sequencer with step, piano roll, grid editing, multifx, large polyphony, mastering fx suite, built in 3 osc VA synth with 4 - 8 voice polyphony.

Expansions could be HD size and RAM amount like upgrading to 1TB or larger and up to 8GB RAM. None of this optional analog or digital out boards to be installed or any other extra hardware optional. It should already come with all the audio and midi i/o.

MPC Live at half the price as the X would still be a big interest to a lot of people. Even if RAM was halved and HD memory halved - provided embedded OS was lightweight in system RAM use to begin with and upgrades to ststem RAM would handle OS upgrades with newer features added upon listening to customer requests

Neither would need support for vst type plugins. Just put in featured fx like I mentioned and the single VA synth.

Just my opinion on my own preferred wishlist and what it needs to come in at $2000

If it has the HD space, runs 2.0 desktop software on Win10, there's no season why VSTs can't be installed via SD or USB media.

BTW, I noticed that the MPC Touch is still on sale everywhere for $599 ($200 discount), so much for that being a time limited sale that ends on 1st Jan. What a surprise

I did mention just my opinion, but I'll tell you the reason for lack of interest besides having a ton of hardware gear already - a closed system has zero chances of incompatibility with other developers products. It also means that you can be using the same system reliably for many many years and not have to deal with customer complaints about third party developers vst instruments.

Like the old school MPC standalones that are still running in many people's studios either due to dedicated fans or frustrated customers that bought tethered controller + computer software and waited for updates that never came or too long promised before delivery.

So the MPC Live will be Bluetooth. Not sure if the Bluetooth feature will work with Windows. Only say that because the recent Akai wireless controllers Bluetooth feature is not compatible with Windows. Only OSX.

I didnt know that. Thats sh i t ty.smh these clowns couldnt release a common sense working product even once. Windows should be easier to bluetooth anyways(w workarounds),so its even more rediculous. They should at least have an optional dongle if needed.

Yes I had to go there to look it up,since at the retailors they leave that information out conveniently. They only say it comes w mac & pc software which implies it works on both. It only say yes under bluetooth.

Been thirsting like everyone else for info on these new units (hopefully) dropping soon. I like to work using a mix of DAWs and hardware. Got out of producing to do other things a few years back and sold my 1K. Ouch.
So I completely missed the Akai controller movement.

The idea of a new standalone unit has me coming out of hiding. I'm thinking about copping the MPCX but I know I'm going to miss the portability that you get with the 1K.

Does it make sense to cop the LIVE and a used Ren instead of the MPCX?
