Im sorry but this makes no sense; do any companies issue a warning or statement when they reduce the price of one of their products?

kaydigi wrote:This is turning into a mess. This biggest blunder is Akai failing to react to the leak properly. They know, we know they could switched up the reveal.

I was really hoping that 2.0 would be released in Januray.

agreed they handled the leak wrong; they could of dropped the teaser vid when the leak happened; they could had some cryptic tweets back then.

but they defo **** up all the momentum and anticipation that was built, if they dont even mention the X at NAMM, that may **** up some the mpc live sales also; cos ur leaving the customer base in limbo.

smh; at this point I just want my v2.0 software and will prolly just get a touch 2nd hand can call it a day;

akai are on a long ting; and they strategy is poor; look how organised ableton is with they shit, but lets see how namm actually unfolds, but shit is sounding janky right now.

smh

If you cant see that them promising 2.0 "this year for sure" then dropping the price 200$ with no statement,& not providing a statement now thats its been proven to not be true,is a giant fugup then I wont even bother.Bottom line is how can anyone say at this point that they didnt only showed 2.0 in January to sell touch,& are still not giving a shit.

If it's not ready to show at NAMM, then why are they showing it on that pedestal? Looks ready to show to me too. Given that picture, even if they showed it and said " this is coming out in 5 months", it'd be WAY smarter than not showing it at all, especially after the leak. We saw the FCC filing, we see this picture. For Akai to act like it's not ready enough to show, when based on that picture it clearly is (maybe not fully functioning yet - but ready enough to SHOW), would be such a marketing blunder I wouldn't even know what to say.

And regarding 2.0, im telling you, the Ren and Studio are going to be sunset sooner than later. The existing Touch will become entry level. The price drop wasn't because it was time to drop the price. The price drop was to make room for the Live's price point, and ultimately position the Touch as the entry level MPC. The studio black was nothing more than a money grab to get rid of old inventory - like they've done in the past with the Fly and Element or whatever those models were.

No way Akai continues to invest resources on maintaining the software to show on that that dot-matrix screen. It'd be foolish and not good business. With the lineup being Touch, Live and X, they continue developing the software for one style of interface. That'd be smart development and programming.

[quote="

85% percent or maybe even 90% of the software should be similar to the 'Live' so no excuse there.

Akai needs to drop in like a bom at the NAMM to reclaime their throne..

Agree
If they don't even show the X that means it's 2018 release. My guess is we'll see them both at namm with releases a month or so apart
Yeah, I can't help thinking, even if X is still in progress, would not make sense to not at least show it. Showing it and being honest about it still being in progress – and also saying it'll come out later – would create a lot of good hype. If they tried to be all "We can't say anything about it" and beat around the bush, that'd be kind of silly.
Couldn't agree more.But This is Akai were talking about. :lol:I honestly think from the sounds of it for sure x isnt getting released at same time as live.If that wasnt the case then why so many mentions of their new product not" products"?At least from the few who have seen it already.

I wish they would just come out with it after keeping people waiting for more than a yr with their broken promises. These clowns think their apple,& are trying to be all mysterious,but fail to realize that you cant pull that sh when you have already flat out lied & not even updated anything with a statement at least.

Scott diaz has now said "Tentatively confirmed for Feb by Akai staff to me personally. Could change tho" so it sounds like they are going to wait to release 2.0." from everything hes said so far its safe to assume live is coming 1st before x.and from staff directly in feb tentatively could mean anything with these jokers.This is so stupid that we need to get info from leaks. Pete says nobody knows for sure that & leaks are only guesser's,but thats a lie too, as these are people who have already been told directly.

Today I want to let you know about a new area of development we have started in Maschine, next to and very much related to the sequencer improvements: We have started to implement audio and realtime time-stretching in Maschine

So far, all tracks in Maschine are Groups that contain Sounds. With the new audio functionality, we are introducing Audio Tracks that sit on the same level as Group Tracks. Group Tracks are just Groups, nothing changed there. Audio Tracks, on the other hand, contain Audio Patterns (= Loops). These behave exactly like Patterns: Their length gets determined and then they are stretched to match the tempo of the project. If an Audio Pattern is shorter than the Scene in which it is placed, the Scene is extended to match the Audio Pattern’s length, and if the Audio Pattern is shorter than the Scene, it is repeated.

:worthy:

Thank you Akai! Keep forcing them with your amazing unfinished lies!

Now if only they drop new hardware.

Probably a private event like the one whose reactions we just saw. And there's no way for anyone to know whether it's ready even though it "looks ready".

We could ask the guy who leaked the photo..
He's on instagram:

Is this going to be a paid 3.0 update? I bought a Jam last month to go along with my MK1, they work well together.
