Naw I think its free but its a beta thing rite now.
I am bringing this topic up right now because we want to prepare the ground for the coming audio beta, and also because we would love to hear your feedback on which features you think are most important in this area already at this early stage of development.

Fanu wrote:^ That's the kind of stuff I'd love to see from companies. Not just being all silent. But maybe it's just me and I nothing about how companies / Akai should talk to their customer base.

What's weird is that Akai\Pete started giving us updates between 1.6 to 1.8.2. After that it went all silent.

I hope Masada and Hellfire have preview workflow videos in the stash like last year

Im sorry but this makes no sense; do any companies issue a warning or statement when they reduce the price of one of their products?

kaydigi wrote:This is turning into a mess. This biggest blunder is Akai failing to react to the leak properly. They know, we know they could switched up the reveal.

I was really hoping that 2.0 would be released in Januray.

agreed they handled the leak wrong; they could of dropped the teaser vid when the leak happened; they could had some cryptic tweets back then.

but they defo **** up all the momentum and anticipation that was built, if they dont even mention the X at NAMM, that may **** up some the mpc live sales also; cos ur leaving the customer base in limbo.

smh; at this point I just want my v2.0 software and will prolly just get a touch 2nd hand can call it a day;

akai are on a long ting; and they strategy is poor; look how organised ableton is with they ****, but lets see how namm actually unfolds, but **** is sounding janky right now.

smh

I'll sell you my touch for $300, when the Live drops. It's in great condition. I'll be both feet in w/ the Live on day 1.

sidenote: Akai screwed us on the soundcard(User juggles two lazy azz drivers after all that Ren drama!) but nobody mentioning that huh? Ya'll ALL had UAD money? N.I. was like "eh-hem" FLEEEEX! Image

SOLID Company.
:smoker:

Sorry I can't say anything about the other hardware but this one I've got to loose a few shots at it:

When it came out it had lots of problems with it, just do a little search on google and you can find tons of forums filled with people complaining about it's performance, sudden glitchy sounds, audio interuptions, strange behavior when playing YouTube videos etc, etc.

Took them a few years to sort it out. But I have to admit that after they've sorted things out with the driver it outperforms the soundcard of the touch.

Conclusion: Not so Solid but didn't let their customers down..

N.I. never LIED so yes compared to Legendary MPC Circuitry or Vintage Mode they ARE SOLID. They stayed until that sound card was pristine and the bugs were gone. Pete gave me a work-around for a driver that asks you to choose: Bit Accurate or Core Audio? Bruhh!

And let me fix your Akai badge...it's a lil crooked...THIS how it SHOULD read...
I still have an MPC Ren from 2012 and it's falling apart. Too bad I also bought an MPC4000 complete with Aksys software that they dropped entirely for MPC5000/Renaissance/MPCX....To this day an MPC4000, S6000 and DPS24 can be on the same network synced! The MPC4000 can do things the MPC Touch or LIVE or X cant.
foolish to compare a keyboard to a drum sampler but I feel the slight. I was there when NI turned away from that XY controlled, scene morphing beast! Try the Komplete Kontrol S61 when you miss Kore. It'll dry your tears quick!

know your history kids. Some of us are here caz we was left in the MPC4000 Version 1.72 forum for dead in 2007! AND IT NEVER CAME OUT!

Look at ya boys.....HAD it ALL!

MPC-Tutor wrote:If Akai keep adding 'DAW' features, won't the next generation of producers just start seeing the MPC as a basic, immature DAW compared to the established DAW's? NI and Ableton's large team of developers can probably copy any feature they want from the MPC Software (Maschine 2.46 'lazy chop' for example) and both Push and Maschine are already comparable in terms of hardware.

So what will be the MPCs 'unique' selling proposition moving forward? And even if they get one, how long before it gets copied and improved by the others?

The unique selling prop is "STANDALONE" !!!

Just seen confirmation from twitter that live is coming first then mpc x in "around summer". SO MAYBE THEY WILL show it @ namm?Im waiting for him to respond if hes already seen it but it sounds like he did, it seems like 2.0 will be out in February too(hopefully much sooner). But this sucks ass honestly, its no longer just rumours but rather confirmed.I just want 2.0 :WTF:

NI have told many deceptive lies over the years; lets be clear, but currently it seems they have regained focus following the announcements of the features said to be in 2.0 mpc

2.0 is more about the new line up than the ren/studio. It's part of the appeal about the new units and , from a business standpoint, wouldn't make sense to separate the 2

It's also why I question the live and x coming out at 2 separate times unless the x is far from being done (1 year +)

nah think 2.0 is about 2.0 in of itself; the actual progression of the mpc software is an event by itself; the new hardware is an adjunct to that.

they know the pics of the X leaked so if they act like it dont exist on dont mention it at all that is very disrespectful to customers imo
