Nah man, very little officially confirmed in those tweets - unless there's stuff I haven't seen - which certainly could be. The only thing he seems to have confirmed is that 2.0 will be free for Touch users. Everything else is just him saying what he "thinks". Anytime you say "that could change", or "I'm guessing"... Maybe it's a strong belief, but it's still a rumor until Akai says so officially.

I do appreciate his efforts to clarify and share information though. But I wouldn't get too bummed out man. We don't know what Akai is going to do. Not even that dude does.

It's important to understand that until Akai actually release 2.0 or the Live, it's all basically up in the air, anything could happen. Chances are they are still working out some bugs so even if they 'hope' to launch in February, that doesn't mean it will definitely happen then. No different to Dan saying 2.0 was going to be released in 2016, unforeseen things happen. Remember Scott Diaz is not an Akai developer so he's probably just having casual chats to his contact at Akai (probably from the marketing department) - 'Oh yeah Scott, we definitely hope to be going live with this sometime in Feb, for sure. Or so I'm led to believe...'

However it's good to have someone like this making public statements as at the very least it puts more pressure on Akai to follow through with the claims such as 2.0 being free for Touch users etc.

Today I want to let you know about a new area of development we have started in Maschine, next to and very much related to the sequencer improvements: We have started to implement audio and realtime time-stretching in Maschine

So far, all tracks in Maschine are Groups that contain Sounds. With the new audio functionality, we are introducing Audio Tracks that sit on the same level as Group Tracks. Group Tracks are just Groups, nothing changed there. Audio Tracks, on the other hand, contain Audio Patterns (= Loops). These behave exactly like Patterns: Their length gets determined and then they are stretched to match the tempo of the project. If an Audio Pattern is shorter than the Scene in which it is placed, the Scene is extended to match the Audio Pattern’s length, and if the Audio Pattern is shorter than the Scene, it is repeated.

:worthy:

Thank you Akai! Keep forcing them with your amazing unfinished lies!

Is this going to be a paid 3.0 update? I bought a Jam last month to go along with my MK1, they work well together.

This is just a pic of maschine and bitwig studio on seperate monitors. There are no audio tracks in maschine here.

I just grabed the first picture I saw of the New Maschine Jam with those new touchstrips showing the new Maschine perform fx scratcher that I use to scratch my song like I'm a tour DJ. :smoker:

Lets get back on topic....Recent MPC 2.0 TWEETS.....MPCX photo leaks.... nothing confirmed from Alie - I mean Akai

Look above you MPC-Tutor has explained what akai said. I was simply copy and pasting Native Instruments words; verbatim

What do you think the prices will be come, when the new machines comes to market? Akai the ongoing price war between NI and Akai. I hope that Akai will keep the prices under NI machine.

I think the following prices, what do you think?

Akai MPC TOUCH 599,-
Akai MPC LIVE 799,-
Akai MPC X 1099,- (if it is a standalone)

Akai MPC V2.0 for Ren users €99,-
Akai MPC V2.0 for Touch users €0,00

This. 2.0 is about the Ren and studio as well, so it should be handled separate from the new hardware.

I agree with you that it should be but it won't. Again, it doesn't make sense for them to take away any hype from the new units. It makes zero financial sense for them to release 2.0 before the new line up hits the market.

Ren and studio will probably continue to benefit from future updates but not directly. Akai will never ask themselves "how can we make the ren and studio better?". Everything will be focused on utilizing the touch screen capabilities. I actually wouldn't put it past them to make the ren and studio incompatible with any future updates.

You're way off homie. The list price for the Ren when it was released was $1999. Expect the X to be above that. Live will retail around the $1299 range

If they want to compete w/ The Push, those numbers won't help. $2k is absurd pricing for a controller, but if the Ren dropped today, I'd imagine it @1400 TOPS. I predict the Live will retail under $1,000.

I will maybe off for a little bit. First I'm speaking in €€€,00. And second Akai knows they have to be way under the Pioneer Toraiz and stay close to NI Machine.

See what the the Touche did. And the Live will not be so much more expensive. And overall I think mine prices are much closer as you think.

Not only because I own 2 MPC Touch, 1 Ren and 1 studio. But i had MPC's from MPC60mk2 and all MPC from the real Akai periode. And believe me... The market did change. And these days equipment don't have to be so expensive.

We talking standalone MPCs. This got its own internal cpu inside to function the whole machine. Aint no way the X gonna even be around the $1400 mark. $1900 or if they that generous, $1800 tops. You will be spending two Gs no matter what after taxes and shit.
By J.O.BEATS Sun Jan 08, 2017 10:02 pm
The MPC5000 was over $3 Gs when it came out. No way the X (being the first stand alone flagship in 10 years) is under $2000. The more I think about it the more I wouldn't be surprised to see a $3000+ price tag.

The MPC1000 was around $999 when it first hit correct? What was the 2500, $1800 or something like that? The Live will fall in between those prices

A standalone machine doesn't mean a machine with a hole computer inside. It's only a little cart with in and outputs and some memory. The MPC already has a touch screen. So the price to build is only a €35,- more to build. I think development of software is more expensive after all. But that was also already in the Ren and Touch.
So I don't expect so a big price difference.
