Doubt the Touch is going anywhere, anytime soon. It's well-positioned (price and capability) to be the entry-level MPC now.

And that screenshot of the 2.0 software - that layout looks exactly like the layout of Logic Pro X. They better be careful... LOL Just kidding. But really, I use Logic Pro X exclusively as my DAW, so I'm actually glad to look at something familiar.

I don't know why peeps keeps saying why its standalone if users gonna hook it up to a computer anyway. Did you see the back? It has USB! Why not connect to a computer. On top of that I can disconnect from the computer.

I am not in my studio 24/7 like most of you here, I transport stuff all the time and why I'm equiped with battery-powered DAWs and samplers like the MPC500. Standalone is a must for me

Looking DOPE! I'm all up for the futuristic look for real. I'm sure some old grouches will be saying it looks too new, but hey, get on with the times!
Those little displays for Q-Links look real dope, too.

I think Akai are breaking ground with these, making other companies sweat a bit, which is good!

I also notice the touchscreen on the live sits flush w/ the body, vs. the recessed screen on the MPC Touch. I hold out hope that this is a sign they improved the capacitive screen for better responsiveness; more like an iPad. Fingers crossed.

The touch is for users who don't need all the features of standalone . It is all one family, when akai released the touch they already had the live and X in their plans.

So today imma show you how to make a beat on the MPC X. The X is DOPE knahmean.
So firss, imma take a kick (taps the pad super frantically 3-5 times each time while browsing a kick, then does the same with hihat and snare).
Aight, so next im gonna pick my sample knahmsayin (chops the sample and taps extra frantically while tuning each chop, doesnt say much).
Then imma do a bass.

Well, isn't that great? You don't HAVE to use a computer.
That's literally offering the best of both worlds. Make your song in the MPC X in standalone mode, then finally hook it up to your computer to use your favorite plugins to mix it, for example.

Well thats it confirmed for me. 2.0 and hopefully a cheap upgrade to a Ren. Now when will we get some timescales?
