my new mpc touch pisses all over these nerfed standalones
ive got a pc
i6700 5ghz and runs the mpc touch piss easy
theres no way these new products will have he power to do this
look at the playstation vita it was quad core but still couldnt compete with the ps3

Except that they can act as controllers and do exactly what your Touch can do, plus everything else unique to these models. But I guess we won't be seeing you around this forum, then. And that's just too bad.

Anyway, I'll bet part of the performance bump on the screen has to do w/ not mirroring the host PC, like the Touch was obliged to do. It also looks like upgraded screen. Flush w/ the body of the device.

I was thinking it might be 2 grand + so that's more doable. :smoker:

Apparently the Live ships with an MSRP of £799, I'm assuming that's inc VAT as Akai have never talked ex-VAT pricing before. If that's the case then that's a great launch price. I was expecting nearer £999.

Portability is the key, here. I'll murder all those VSTs and PC perks w/ an OP-1.

Okay.. :smoker:

And your point??

Don't get me wrong but the truth is nobody needs a MPC Touch/Live/X.
I've have an Touch and I'm going to upgrade to the X.
But why do we buy these things if the truth is that we really don't need them.

You've got a Touch just like me.. But with a powerful PC and a good soundcard we would do just fine and maybe faster too.

But we buy these things because we like the workflow, We like the groove + timing, We love the sound, It inspires us to produce our beats differently, it makes our studio look cool, etc.. etc.. etc..

But at the end of the day when you done with your track and you are ready to upload it to YouTube, Soundcloud, Veoh, Itunes, etc.

None of your listeners are going to hear an MPC nor do they care.. What they will hear is your skills.

So my point is everybody has there own reason for using an MPC or any kind of other product. You chose your current setup and someone else might cop an 'Live' or 'X' there's no need to bash these new products or do you feel left behind because you've just purchased a Touch..??

You can't makes beats in the toilet while the electricity is gone with your Touch bruh! Heck, you can take the Live to the park with some beers and start jamming. Do that with your Touch and laptop. Ha.
Besides, it's probably not like it's trying to compete with software FX. And hey, when you want it – you can use 'em! Best of both worlds...you really can't beat that!

I spoke to someone at akai and they are not releasing 2.0 until the new units ship so it will not be out until feb/march :WTF:

Makes sense in a way though. Maximum hype for the new machines.
