Yeah, I'd kinda like to take 2.0 for a spin, before I commit to a hard-wired version!

It was the same with the MPC Touch. And remember UK pricing includes 20% VAT as well, so the Live is actually £665 ex VAT, which is around $810.

After reading 2.0 features and seeing what standalone limitations there are to 2.0 on Live or X, I'm not seeing a whole lot more it does than my MV. Oh, I will definitely be buying the Live for portable centerpiece, but an X won't replace my MV. I can see it synced with my MV though....

Must have for clip launch and elastique engine. The one thing I miss about not using Ableton any more.

A lot of other cool stuff too, but not ground breaking stuff that hasn't been already done in previous gear. Will definitely be faster load times han a 4000 or an mv, but not ground breaking. Don't get me wrong - They are fullfilling just about every wish of mine on the new standalones. A great job that they are finally coming out. Count me in for sure with my Sweetwater credit, but not going to give up the MV quite yet.

The 8800. I just grabbed a NOS unopened box 8800 off ebay too as a 2nd MV for a smaller setup for my son and I. I won't let him on my first MV8800. Has all my latest projects on it.

I think my son will like the new MPC better though. Touchscreen, fast load/save/preview times, and clip launch. He knows that from Ableton

An MV does not have 8 CV/Gate outputs. An MV does not have 4 Midi Outs or USB Ins and Out.

This new MPCx with its 4 analog Ins and 8 analog outs, Midi and CV specs is lookig like the centerpiece of the modern project studio. Think about it. It handles all your audio interface, midi interface, CV out needs and you can hook up any midi controller to it either by midi or USB. You can expand the storage simply be installing an SATA drive.

Gear I am maybe going to sell to fund this since it will no longer be needed: my MOTU Audio interface. Maschine and Studio Pad controllers, Cirklon (we'll see), and my midi interface.

Yeah. For sure. Either that or grab a new MPC standalone. The MV is really deep and a full blown production workstation besides being a fantastic full feature multisampler. Midi tracks on it are about tye best I've ever seen. Step, Grid, Piano Roll, all kinds of quantize options, high resoltion, easy midi editing. MV will let you hook up mouse and monitor in color also.

Full blown COSM fx, mastering fx, COSM synth. Can be setup with workflow to be more similar to MPC if you want, etc, etc

I could rave on for a long time on features, but grab a read at what it offers or go through a manual and see for yourself. Some of the features in new 2.0 MPC software were standard to MV ten years ago.

It was a sampler workstation ahead of its time.

This is why I'm excited about the new MPC's though - finally some new samplers that come close or have some better features than the MV with modern hardware spec and touchscreen. Doesn't make the MV obsolete, but does offer some updated and cool features I wanted.

I/O is better for sure on the MPC X, but I use doepfer dark link midi to cv converters, my midi controllers are actual hardware synths, don't use a PC (gave up Ableton and PC after ten years of use). I'm not saying the MV beats it, I'm saying it has features implemented that 2.0 is just addressing now, is a full blown workstation, has the 8 audio tracks and no need for PC integration.

Don't misread that I think the MV is going to beat it. I just don't think it makes an MV obsolete yet.
