Is it confirmed that there are no warp markers? That blows if they aren't.

I feel the problem is going to be........... with exporting the project into Pro Tools, Ableton, Logic..... etc and using 3rd party plugins. Mostly videos are focus on stand alone, not integration.

This is what i've been saying. And I'm sure if they implemented glide/portamento into keygroups, they would've said something. 2.0 is improved, but not enough to be the "centerpiece" of my studio. Seems like i'd be tethered to the computer just as much.

That might be the biggest issue with a standalone MPC - those that moved away from hardware and started going ITB software based music with only a couple complimentary pieces of outboard gear, are going to be missing features they have become reliant upon with vst's and third party software fx.
Those that are using all hardware with hardware MPC's (or MV's) are going to be just dandy with new standalone format and even the limitations. Remember the standalone with 2.0 software is still version 1.0 of standalone. Things could change with some updates to the software on the standalone. It very much fits as a true centerpiece for the way I would want to use it.
This is what I was saying made sense in the other thread. By locking it to MPC specific software and not third party software support, they ensure the standalone will work for a long time without potential issues of integration. They also did almost everything in I/O that I wanted. Upgradable 2.5" drive. No extra cards to buy. All right there and adding an ssd drive should be a breeze.
I just was reading the quick start on the X. They are making good use of the touchscreen. XYFX looks cool too.

Can you actually sample in without getting popping and digital feedback? That's pretty much my main complaint about the Ren. Beaides that, none of these new features are exciting enough for me to upgrade. If i wanted to learn a whole new workflow, i would just learn a real DAW like ableton or logic. But visually they do look great!

At the end of the day what do I get over a ren for $2200? A touch screen? The ability to lug a 23 lb monster to the beach to make beats? There are a lot of cons and not a lot of pros.. Its not gonna be any quicker or improve my workflow and there is no way that any of the built in sounds are going to match all my kontakt libraries and arturia Vst's. One interesting feature is the cv outs but really a touch screen and cv isn't worth 2200. Give me a reliable version of 2.0 and im good!

If it works for you, right on. I'd like to hear people's honest reviews once they start shipping. Personally, I can't work without vsts and plugin fx, so the standalone feature isn't worth the money to me. My laptop is my standalone lol. I ditched the limitation = creativity theory back with Reason 2.5, and I definitely wouldn't want that to be a factor on something that costs as much as a nice computer. And maybe i'm being overly pessimistic, but I can't imagine the converters are better than Apogee, UAD, RME, etc. I would be more likely to buy one of these if I actually had faith in the software being up to par with the competition.

So whats up with 2.0 for the ren studio and touch users? not interested in these new units at all.. do we previous owners still have the oppurtunity to use the 2.0 software? And what new features are available for daw integration? All this standalone shit is really 1990s..

Yes. 2.0 will work with all previous MPC Software controllers.

Cool, Where is the new features listed for daw integration??? wtf have they done this whole time,besides create another previous model mpc with an ability to do whats already being done last year with the cpu?

If you can't work without vst's and plugin fx, then the Ren, Studio, or Touch still should be fine. It doesn't sound like a product you need though. I don't think they are trying to get converts to standalone. Probably trying to get the group of people sick of dependency on vst's and third party plugins and all the mayhem the ever updating PC's and Mac's do that breaks the software or causes long wait times between updates.
