Maschine and MPC together in harmony?

So with all the hype around the X and Live I'm actually thinking in a different direction.

Standalone is irrelevant to me really although I do like the look of the X as an upgrade from my silver studio.

I really like the look of the Maschine Jam though and specifically the playability of the touch strips with chords/scales and having that massive grid set to scale mode instead of just a 4x4 grid.

From my research I believe I prefer the MPC workflow so am thinking Maschine as a plugin inside of MPC for instruments that require more expressive playing that the touch strips and bigger grid will provide.

So I want the MPCs workflow but with the perks of the Maschine Jam controller.

Has anyone tried it like this, Maschine as plugin in MPC or vice-versa?
Also, does Maschine have a MPC essentials equivalent? A cut down version to save on computer resources?

I use Maschine 2.5.6 as a sound module inside MPC Software. While I have a MK1 and Jam, I've have only used the MK1 when inside the mpc.

I will have to try that combination with both the mk1 and jam. I will use a couple of Kontakt instruments to see how it feels. I will also see what kind of cpu hit.

With mpc 2.0 it looks like you can bounce vst inplace, via the masada video.

So far for the note strips melodic play I had to record the notes via Jam into the maschine sequencer and then drag and drop the midi into the MPC sequencer. For regular pad play every thing worked fine with the MPC triggering notes out of maschine.

I'll test it out more tonight when I get some time.

That sounds very positive. Either dragging them into MPC to save resources or to just have a few modules in Maschine and then bounce them as stems when I bounce the MPC stems for mixing.
