Just heard back from Thomann. Looks like their shipment of MPC X's is expected to arrive April 28, 2016.

2017 that is... typing too fast from all the excitement.

Hi everybody, just joined. Thanks everybody for posting your comments, video links and the info you've got so far. Been checking this forum for the last week about 10 times a day .

I've ordered the MPC Live at Bax Shop in the Netherlands the monday the news was out. It says on the site that I will receive it within 9 working days. I try not to get my hopes up as the Akai guy in the demo video for sonic lab said 'available end of february' and the guy earlier in the forum said his X will ship on the 17th of april. I've send Bax Shop an e-mail to ask if the date is correct, no confirmation yet. It seems to be the date because it's been counting down for a week and a half now and they haven't corrected it. It's even counting down in on non working days . For the X it's also counting down, also says 9 working days at the moment. I don't know how it works. Could be that certain shops got some sort of order contract which puts them first in line for the shipments...? I've also checked the french site of Bax Shop and there it's 11 days, so that's 9 days with two shipping days to France.
I come from an MV-8800. I've got a question which maybe MPC-owners might be able to answer. I know you don't have the Live's manual, but maybe it's a usual feature in the standalone MPC's.
If I got it right, an MPC program is an 'instrument' that consists of samples spread over 8 banks. A sample can contain 4 layers of samples Would it be possible to send a sample within a program to a different physical output than the program itself? Or even just a layer of one sample. That would be very handy with resampling while playing a sequence with that instrument so you could check the sound in the mix. I'm a finger drummer so it also would expand the options. For example: play one instrument with one sample going to a delay and the rest of the instrument through something else.

Yes it is possible to route a pad to a different output. I think you mistyped you said a sample can contain four layers but its a pad that can contain four layers.

As for Baxshop I don't know man.. I'm from the Netherlands and there feature list of the 'X' is full of mistakes.
I've emailed them about it and even gave them corrections but no reply.. I dont think I'm going to buy my 'X' at Baxshop if they won't even reply to a simple email or to your question. What if the 'X' starts to malfunction is this the way they'll support me..??

They say that 2.0 will function as a plugin. But we all know that it will function As a standalone DAW as well.

The say that it will come with 16Gigs of samples but we all know that it comes with 16Gigs storage capacity from which 10 Gigs will be used for samples.

They say that 'X' will have a rechargeable lithium-battery but we all know that it doesn't.

I'm a little bit sceptical about the delivery date as well.

I'd be weary of pre-ordering on a product where the lead developer is currently tweeting that they (to paraphrase) 'haven't quite finished the software yet'. I would guess the late Feb/March estimates are more accurate.

LOL. All these online retailers are playing with the dates to get people to buy from them.

Then sit and wait like everyone else. Not high integrity, but many of them do that.

Yes I meant pad. Assigning pads within a program to a different output is great!
Yeah you would expect some sort of reply within a couple of days. I don't know. So far so good with products I ordered at that shop, and delivered on time. I don't know about the service for faulty products though.
Maybe it's wishful thinking, but the Live being available next Monday could be the right date, as it's just after Namm. Maybe the've already got them piled up, but by contract have to wait till after Namm so the bugs won't be twittered during Namm

B&H has the Live listed as March 9th. I spoke to PSSL, and they basically told me that the Jan. date is wrong, and they'll "need to correct" the error. That was last week.

x is a workflow killer. the distance between the user and the screen is way too far. touch and live are ergonomicially okay.

I called PSSL he said he is going to look into the availability on the live for Tuesday and call me back.

I see another has called has well thats what i expected.

Anybody order stuff from PSSL in the past? I've heard some not so great things about them, but they're the only ones I can find with a coupon that works...
