Of course he makes it easy by always doing the same quick pre-planned show. To get really deep with details, he should do a one-hour show, which doesn't make sense there as you gotta be rapid-firing your shows to a lot of people asking for a video etc.
Times have changed, I've never been to NAMM but I've been to similar trade shows in the UK and 'back in the day' you'd just have a bit of a casual chat with the guys at the booths, perhaps they'd do a pre-arranged public demo once a day to a few dozen people.
Now every bugger wants to get everything on video so there's no more 'casual' anything, every video has the potential to be seen by hundreds of thousands of potential customers, so we end up with 3000 videos of Andy Mac doing the same demo. Most of these bloggers seem to have no particular interest in MPCs so aren't asking anything particularly pressing.
IMO Saintjoe's Q&A is unlikely to be particularly revealing if he has to do it with Andy Mac as Andy is not a product developer, he's marketing. Hopefully if Dan isn't there they at least bring Pete along for the more technical discussion at some point.
Either way, hopefully we eventually see some interviews where they pull Akai away from the rehearsed marketing gumpf!
Totally agree, NI and Roland can come out with their stand alone that's not going to make me leave the MPCX for theirs. I am a MPC dude for life!
