Aww, hell no. I'm gonna have my X sitting up on my desk all pristine while I actually run everything still from my MV8800. You know, like when you wear briefs under your boxers so your **** is tight still but you look cool on the outside.....

You know I'm just messin. Aint no way I'm gonna have my X sitting unused. I hope I wear out the first set of pads within a couple years. Then I'm getting my money's worth out of it. I may not be rushin to pre-order, but it's definitely coming to my house in 2017 as long as it does whats advertised.

Its no different from the MPC Touch Pads, I own one and I can say that you are overreacting. you have to clean all of your gear once in a while. It's no different whether you use the 2500 or the Touch and it will be the same with the new models.

Yes, it's the same on the Touch, the pads and the paintwork collect finger prints and dust instantly. It's impossible to keep it clean for more than 3 seconds. The paintwork is not satin like previous MPCs, it's flat matt. Looks great, when clean. But most of the time it just looks grubby, especially the pads (as you can see in all the videos and pictures ATM).

Last time I filmed something close up with the Touch I had a roll of sticky tape nearby to 'pat' all the finger prints off between takes.

Akai does give you a cleaning cloth with every purchase.

Even my lpd8 collect dust my computer screen collect dust my black midi keyboard collect dust and finger prints, my black PC collects dust lol

Am l suppose to stay away from every thing l have? I would never make music then.

That's what I do and get off the natural oils from the hands, I can't play keys like that. If one feels the need to be super clean put a dust cover on your MPC when you finish.

I guess they will have it ready for Musikmesse.

That's the hole truth and nothing but the truth... NAMM is not only fot us to see new goodies. It's also a place to do business. And get orders from the stores. The MPC's you see now are prototype for testing and demo's...

This month Akai will decide how many MPC will be made. They will place orders with OEM factories. These machines need to be shipped. Like other manufacturers on NAMM say about there products, it will be between march and may.

And now about Dan and V2.0
For the first time Dan is not at NAMM. This means two things. Akai keep him back so he is out the fire. Or Akai did fire him. For sure he was taking to much last year at NAMM. And told us to much about the Akai MPC's road-plan. He told us that MPC Touch is not the last MPC and is not the flagship. Fithermore he said. MPC with windows embaded is having a MPC with a built in computer. The MPC Live and X is 3 years of work. So Akai new that these machine would be linux machines. Like a lot of the other Numark gear are also driven by linux.

V2.0 is still under construction
Akai will release V2.0 along side with the new models. It gives the programmers the time to make it from beta to alpha. That's why we will not see it yet. It's simply not ready yet.
