Hey that was the plan. I have the video where in the MPCX you can EXPORT what you did in midi, going out as audio wav and send it to the desk top of your computer. Then drap and drop the audio wav loop into your favorite DAW. No need to record from the MPCX into anything. All in the box!

Daaaamn aaaah, thanks for the tip! Checkin' the album now. That dirty gritty sound. Maybe I should buy a second hand mpc2000 as an external send effect for the Live haha. Hearing all those different vinyl samples it seems like everything got an extra overall sound from the mpc or maybe that's the master fx in the mpc, Well I love the old boom bap but I don't want to emulate that old style by using vinyl effect plugins or bit degraders. I'll never use an vinyl crackle plugin if I made a beat without vinyl samples. F that shit. Bit crush is cool thought. I don't want to emulate at all, just the sound I make now with the gear I have.

Can you share that link? To me it's crucial for my workflow.

Sometimes its not about pristine sound and many plugin fx. I got my Zoom Sampletrak ST-224 that if I remember right does three rates for sampling. 16/44, 16/32, 16/11

It can get pretty gritty sounding in a nice musical way. Got a 16mb smart media card in it. Has a PC editor made by third party to pre-load up kits into the smart media card.

Sometimes called the poor man's sp1200. Quirky little sampler with some character came out in 99 and I picked up on the cheap.

Well you're right, whatever sounds good you could use. But not for me. If somebody uses it and it sounds good, then I'll bounce to it. I've tried RC-20 Retro Color for the other effects and also heard the vinyl emulation. It sounds fake to me. And it just doesn't feel right haha. Yeah, guess I'm a purist. I wanna get out of plugin mode. Just e-mailed a guy for some analog guitar pedals. When I receive the Live I'll try to set it up as the central thing where everything goes in and out, via my analogue mixer, and get away from mousing. I'll still use some software instruments though, but I'll just set up a few presets and let them go through some anolog gear and twist some knobs .

True. But why would you layer a vinyl crackle upon a sample from another record. Just to make it sound like your grandmother has listened to it over and over, and to sound like your a real crate digger. If I sample a record and it's never been listened to and is pristine, so be it.
But whatever you like to do, do it. And if it sounds good it is good.

Hey, if you feel your bass sample lacks a bit in the bass region, do you EQ it or let it be? Just saying!

But back to the subject: the 44,000-24 Live and X! Does it have a vinyl crackle insert effect?

I do sample a lot of old crackly stuff for hip hop, though. Love that grit.
