Spectrum analyser isn't needed. Oscilloscope should be the first check.

Cmon guys you don't need to know music theory but the basics of tuning would really help you here.

Yeah you need to spend 25k on an Agilent Spectrum Analyzer to make sure your sh*t is right in key.

no smart ass lames. but when you can see the spectrum you can see exactly where your bass and kick are sitting in a split second. with out having to use his noob ear on the conflicting frequencies. Nobody said a spectrum analyzer tells you anything about the key. but chiming in with the pussy lips flapping a bunch of nonsense shows you don't read the thread you just flap the gums with nothing of importance.

think the whole point is to develop ur ear; this noob as u called him had enuff ears to know the bass was not fitting right, so really just find bass tones that sound good and play with it.

u ll notice 9th had no spectrum analyser in the vid; he dont need to listen for what key something is in he just listens for what sounds good with the beat.

Hybrid 3 or any other bass plug-in

If I find a nice bassline (even with complex material, while other instruments play, also) I filter it and distort it afterwards with amp plugins. Since I have some REs in Reason I use those, or iZotope Trash2. Then I play the original notes (sometimes pitched down) or with 16 levels.

Hybrid3 is nice, too, although I rarely use it. Rob Papen SubBoomBass is alright as well, but it needs heavy processing to sound fat.

The best choice for me is to play the bass myself (either with my Arturia MiniBrute or with my bass guitar), distort it as mentioned above and then resample it. Best way for me.
